Efeito da aplicação foliar de ácidos graxos na "Via das Lipoxigenases" de plantas de soja

open access: yesQuímica Nova, 2002
The involvement of lipoxygenase isozymes in several physiological processes of plants has been described but their role is not well understood and more biochemical studies are needed to elucidate the role of the "Lipoxygenase Pathway" in plant physiology.

Involvement of the Octadecanoid Pathway in Bluegreen Aphid Resistance in Medicago truncatula

open access: yesMolecular Plant-Microbe Interactions, 2007
Aphids are major insect pests of plants that feed directly from the phloem. We used the model legume Medicago truncatula Gaert. (barrel medic) to elucidate host resistance to aphids and identified a single dominant gene which confers resistance to ...

Circulating leukotriene b4 identifies respiratory complications after trauma [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Background. Leukotriene B4 (LTB4), a proinflammatory lipid mediator correlates well with the acute phase of Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS). Therefore, LTB4-levels were investigated to determine whether they might be a useful clinical marker ...

Functional and physicochemical properties of proteins isolated from four different pulses

open access: yesFood Biomacromolecules, EarlyView.
Proteins from four pulses viz. pinto bean, cow pea, pigeon pea, and navy bean were isolated and characterized. Pinto bean protein showed the highest oil absorption capacity and solubility. Pinto bean protein exhibited the highest emulsion capacity and foaming capacity. Cow pea protein showed the highest in vitro protein digestibility.

Evaluation of Manganese Chloride’s Effect on Biosynthetic Properties of In Vitro Cultures of Eschscholzia californica Cham.

open access: yesMolecules, 2018
The basal production of secondary metabolites in medicinal plants is limited. One of the effective approaches that encourages plants to produce a remarkable amount of precious compounds is an application of elicitors.

Genome-wide identification and expression analysis of lipoxygenase genes in Tartary buckwheat

open access: yesBiotechnology & Biotechnological Equipment, 2020
Lipoxygenases (LOXs; EC1.13.11.12) are widely involved in plant growth, development, maturation, senescence and stress resistance. LOXs have been studied in many crop species but not in Tartary buckwheat [Fagopyrum tataricum (L.) Gaertn.].

Nonthermal Food Processing Technologies: A Comprehensive Review

open access: yesFuture Postharvest and Food, EarlyView.
The graphical abstract illustrates the shift from traditional thermal food preservation methods to advanced nonthermal technologies. Traditional methods, represented by heating, often compromise the nutritional and sensory quality of foods. In contrast, nonthermal approaches such as high‐pressure processing (HPP), pulsed electric field (PEF ...

Hits-to-Lead Optimization of the Natural Compound 2,4,6-Trihydroxy-3-geranyl-acetophenone (tHGA) as a Potent LOX Inhibitor: Synthesis, Structure-Activity Relationship (SAR) Study, and Computational Assignment

open access: yesMolecules, 2018
A new series of 2,4,6-trihydroxy-3-geranyl-acetophenone (tHGA) analogues were synthesized and evaluated for their lipoxygenase (LOX) inhibitory activity. Prenylated analogues 4a–g (half maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50) values ranging from 35
