Screening and confirmation methods of the major urinary metabolite of finasteride–carboxy-finasteride by liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry and liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry

open access: yesActa Pharmaceutica Sinica B, 2012
Screening and confirmation methods of the major urinary metabolite of finasteride–carboxy-finasteride for doping control purpose were developed. Liquid–liquid extraction was adopted for the sample preparation.

Feature extraction for proteomics imaging mass spectrometry data [PDF]

open access: yesAnnals of Applied Statistics 2015, Vol. 9, No. 4, 1973-1996, 2014
Imaging mass spectrometry (IMS) has transformed proteomics by providing an avenue for collecting spatially distributed molecular data. Mass spectrometry data acquired with matrix assisted laser desorption ionization (MALDI) IMS consist of tens of thousands of spectra, measured at regular grid points across the surface of a tissue section.

Ocrelizumab quantitation by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry

open access: yesJournal of Mass Spectrometry and Advances in the Clinical Lab, 2022
Introduction: Ocrelizumab is a monoclonal anti-CD20 antibody approved for the treatment of multiple sclerosis (MS). The clinical value of therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) for this antibody in treatment of MS is unknown, and an adequately specific and ...

Liquid Chromatography Tandem Mass Spectrometry Quantification of 13C-Labeling in Sugars

open access: yesMetabolites, 2020
Subcellular compartmentation has been challenging in plant 13C-metabolic flux analysis. Indeed, plant cells are highly compartmented: they contain vacuoles and plastids in addition to the regular organelles found in other eukaryotes.

Superheated drop as a neutron spectrometer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Superheated drops are known to vaporise when exposed to energetic nuclear radiation since the discovery of bubble chamber. As the degree of superheat increases in a given liquid, less and less energetic neutrons are required to cause nucleation. This property of superheated liquids are being utilised to develope the neutron spectromer.

Hydrodynamics of Superfluid Helium in a Single Nanohole [PDF]

open access: yesPhys. Rev. Lett.107, 254501 (2011), 2011
The flow of liquid helium through a single nanohole with radius smaller than 25 nm was studied for the first time. Mass flow was induced by applying a pressure difference of up to 1.4 bar across a 50 nm thick Si3N4 membrane and was measured directly by means of mass spectrometry.

The [2Fe‐2S] cluster of mitochondrial outer membrane protein mitoNEET has an O2‐regulated nitric oxide access tunnel

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The mitochondrial outer membrane iron–sulphur ([Fe‐S]) protein mitoNEET is a target of the type‐2 diabetes drug pioglitazone. Its unknown molecular function is linked to respiratory complex activity and mitochondrial function. We discovered that O2 protects the mitoNEET [2Fe‐2S] cluster against NO oxidation and desensitization towards reduction by H2S.

Bayesian ABC-MCMC Classification of Liquid Chromatography–Mass Spectrometry Data

open access: yesCancer Informatics, 2015
Proteomics promises to revolutionize cancer treatment and prevention by facilitating the discovery of molecular biomarkers. Progress has been impeded, however, by the small-sample, high-dimensional nature of proteomic data.
