Promising bacteria strains of the genus Bacillus in plant protection against fusariosis and mycotoxin contamination

open access: yesЮг России: экология, развитие, 2022
Aim – to study the biocontrol properties of B. velezensis BZR 336g and B. velezensis BZR 517 strains against Fusarium pathogens using the fungus Fusarium graminearum as an example and to reduce the accumulation of deoxynivalenol (DON) and zearalenone ...

Production of colchicine by using plant cell culture [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Plant cell and tissue culture is an established alternative to the harvest and extraction of whole plant material for the production of valuable secondary metabolites.

Production of Escovopsis weberi (Ascomycota: Hypocreales) Mycelial Pellets and Their Effects on Leaf-Cutting Ant Fungal Gardens

open access: yesPathogens, 2023
The maintenance of the symbiosis between leaf-cutting ants and their mutualistic fungus Leucoagaricus gongylophorus Singer (Moller) is vital for the survival of both species.

The culture of HaCaT cells on liquid substrates is mediated by a mechanically strong liquid–liquid interface [PDF]

open access: yesFaraday Discussions, 2017
The mechanical properties of naturally-derived matrices and biomaterials are thought to play an important role in directing cell adhesion, spreading, motility, proliferation and differentiation. However, recent reports have indicated that cells may respond to local nanoscale physical cues, rather than bulk mechanical properties.

Temporary Immersion System for Production of Biomass and Bioactive Compounds from Medicinal Plants

open access: yesAgronomy, 2021
The cultivation of medicinal plants and the production of bioactive compounds derived from them are of fundamental importance and interest, not only at the pharmacological level but also in nutraceutical and cosmetic industries and in functional foods ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Use of Liquid Culture with the ElecTIS Bioreactor for Faster Recovery of Blackberry (Rubus fruticosus L.) Shoots from Conservation at 4 °C

open access: yesHorticulturae, 2023
ElecTIS is a new single container bioreactor which does not require forced air blowing, instead making the culture material mobile and the liquid medium stationary.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Effect of Hormone Types and Concentrations on In Vitro Multiplication and Growth of Pineapple (Ananas Comosus (L.) Merr.) Cv Moris on Liquid MS Medium

open access: yesمجلة المختار للعلوم, 2017
The effect of two cytokinins, 6-benzyleaminopurine (BAP) and kinetin (KN) and two auxins, naphthalene acetic acid (NAA) and indole acetic acid (IAA) each applied at 10 concentrations with an increment of 0.5 mg/l in the in vitro shoot formation of Moris
