Transcriptional profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles from prebiopsy prostate cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RNA profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles (EVs) from blood samples of men undergoing prostate biopsy identifies transcripts associated with clinically significant prostate cancer. Integrative analysis with public tumor datasets links EV‐derived gene signatures to tumor stage and progression‐free survival, highlighting CASP3, XRCC2, and RIT1 ...

Effect of Changing Sand Content on Liquid Limit and Plasticity Index of Clay

open access: yesGeotechnics
Middle–Late Miocene clay layers, which occur in several places in Budapest (Hungary), contain varying amounts of sand, with predominance of sand in some cases.

ESTIMATION OF RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN COEFFICIENT OF CONSOLIDATION AND LIQUID LIMIT OF MIDDLE AND SOUTH IRAQI SOILS

open access: yesJournal of Engineering, 2011
In this paper, a relationship between the liquid limit and the coefficient of consolidation of Iraqi soils are studied. The samples of soil used in study are undisturbed silty clay.

The limits of flexoelectricity in liquid crystals

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2011
The flexoelectric conversion of mechanical to electrical energy in nematic liquid crystals is investigated using continuum theory. Since the electrical energy produced cannot exceed the mechanical energy supplied, and vice-versa, upper bounds are imposed on the magnitudes of the flexoelectric coefficients in terms of the elastic and dielectric ...

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

Absorption water content and liquid limit of soils

open access: yes, 1999
Consistency limits are extensively used in geotechnical engineering practice. Besides the consistency limits, the plasticity index, liquidity index, and consistency index have been used to correlate with engineering properties.

Effects of Conditioner Application on Some Mechanical Properties in Soils with Different pH

open access: yesTürkiye Tarımsal Araştırmalar Dergisi, 2016
This study was carried out to determine the effects of rice husk compost, town waste compost and tobacco waste on mechanical properties of soil under greenhouse conditions. Soil samples used in the study were taken from surface (0-20 cm) the lands near

Power handling limit of liquid lithium divertor targets [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
A model is formulated to make a first estimate of the maximum tolerable power of liquid lithium (Li) divertor targets, and to gain insight into their behaviour in terms of Li loss rate and surface temperature. The model, formulated as a simple analytical

ESR1 methylation and ESR1 mutations in circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and paired plasma‐cfDNA of advanced breast cancer patients: A feasibility proof‐of‐concept study

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and plasma cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) were analyzed to detect ESR1 mutations and methylation in patients with advanced breast cancer. CTC‐derived DNA showed higher sensitivity for mutation detection and revealed complementary genetic and epigenetic alterations, highlighting the added value of CTC analysis for understanding ...
