MOTION ANALYSIS OF LIQUID PISTON ENGINES
<p>Engines and pumps are common devices that have become important sources of power to operate machines used in everyday life. Many of these machines need complex technology for proper operation. However, some of these can be operated by using simple mechanical processes.

Reprogrammable multi‐material smart textiles knitted from liquid crystal elastomer fibers undergo 2D and 3D deformation under thermal and photo stimuli. Circularly knitted tubular structures reversibly contract in radial and axial directions, enabling autonomous climbing, liquid release, and micro pumping.

Plasmonic Nanomachines: Creating Local Potential Gradients and Motions
Plasmonic nanomachines can generate optical, thermal, and chemical potential gradients to drive directional rectilinear, rotational, and twisting motions at the nanometer scale. The integration of multimodal plasmonic forces with functional materials and programmed structural distortions enables precise spatiotemporal actuation, thereby providing a ...

Experiments on Air Compression with an Isothermal Piston for Energy Storage
Air is usually compressed adiabatically in the compressor. As the operating speed of compressors can be several thousand rpm, heat generated during compression cannot be sufficiently transmitted to the environment in such a short time.
