Bright and Durable Copper‐Iodide‐Based Nanowire Scintillators

open access: yesAggregate, Volume 7, Issue 8, August 2026.
A surface‐protective‐agent (SPA)‐coordinated low‐temperature crystallization strategy regulates the surface microenvironment of CsCu2I3 nanowires at the atomic level. The SPA simultaneously suppresses iodine‐vacancy‐related defects and nonradiative recombination while eliminating Cu2+ species and surface oxide formation, offering a coherent pathway to ...

Synthesis and Characterization of Tritium‐Labeled Neuropeptide Y Y5 Receptor Ligands Derived From CGP71683A

open access: yesArchiv der Pharmazie, Volume 359, Issue 8, August 2026.
From a synthesized series of 2,4‐diaminoquinazoline‐type Y5R ligands, three were prepared as tritium‐labeled compounds and characterized by saturation equilibrium binding at HEC‐1B‐hY5R cells. [3H]32 was further applied in a competition binding assay. High non‐specific binding of the radioligands prompted investigation of material‐dependent adsorption.

Coccolithophore particulate inorganic and organic carbon ratios: An evaluation of acid decalcification methods

open access: yesLimnology and Oceanography: Methods, Volume 24, Issue 8, August 2026.
Abstract Accurate direct measurements of coccolithophore particulate inorganic and organic carbon ratios (PIC/POC) are crucial for understanding the physiology and role these microbes play in global ocean carbon flux. Direct measurements of POC are commonly obtained by acid fuming or applying acid directly to filters to dissolve PIC (CaCO3) prior to CN

Quantification of Homopolymer Impurities in Structured Acrylate Copolymers Produced by High‐Temperature Semi‐Batch Radical Polymerization

open access: yesMacromolecular Reaction Engineering, Volume 20, Issue 4, August 2026.
Isobornyl acrylate macromonomer solutions are synthesized via high‐temperature radical polymerization using a starved‐feed semi‐batch operating policy. Through sequential feeding, the macromonomer solution functions as an addition‐fragmentation agent, facilitating the production of blocky and comb acrylate copolymers.

Transient Ecological Niches for Diazotrophs in Upwelling Bays

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Oceans, Volume 131, Issue 8, August 2026.
Abstract Diazotrophs, microorganisms capable of fertilizing the ocean through biological nitrogen fixation (BNF), are widespread in the oceans, including upwelling bays. However, their ability to respond to short‐lived upwelling pulses, lasting only a few days, remains poorly understood. To investigate diazotrophy across temporal scales, we analyzed 18

Spatial Partitioning of Microbial Functional Potential Suggests Complex Nitrogen Cycling in a Subterranean Estuary

open access: yesEnvironmental Microbiology, Volume 28, Issue 8, August 2026.
Microbial communities in a Mediterranean subterranean estuary show spatially structured nitrogen‐cycling potential across hydrochemical zones. Microbial properties, more than environmental variables, predict NO2− and NH4+ concentrations, highlighting their key role in controlling nitrogen transformations prior to submarine groundwater discharge ...
