The Influence of Accumulated Radiolysis Products on the Mechanisms of High-Temperature Degradation of Two-Component Lithium-Containing Ceramics

open access: yesCeramics
One of the advantages of the EPR spectroscopy method in assessing structural defects caused by irradiation is the fact that using this method it is possible to determine not only the concentration dependences of the defect structure but to also establish their type, which is not possible with methods such as X-ray diffraction or scanning electron ...

Aptamer‐Directed Porous DNA Nanocomposite Hydrogel for Active Pulp Preservation: Immunomodulation, Stem Cell Recruitment and Reparative Dentinogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents an injectable DNA‐based porous hydrogel integrating catechol motifs and targeting aptamers for pulpitis management. Upon in situ crosslinking, the scaffold actively recruits endogenous dental pulp stem cells, restores redox homeostasis, and modulates immune responses.

Vogel-Fulcher analysis of relaxor dielectrics with the tetragonal tungsten bronze structure : Ba6MNb9O30 (M = Ga, Sc, In)

open access: yes, 2015
In-depth analysis of the relaxor behaviour of Ba6MNb9O30 (M= Ga, Sc, In) tetragonal tungsten bronze (TTB) ceramics was carried out. Powder x-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy were performed in order to confirm the formation of desired ...

Neuromorphic Near‐Sensor and In‐Sensor Computing Enabled by Next‐Generation Material‐Based Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This Review presents a structural framework that classifies neuromorphic sensing into near‐sensor and in‐sensor architectures, clarifying physical coupling between sensing and computation. The framework connects neural and synaptic device functions with recent advances in optical, mechanical, and chemical sensing, compares energy consumption and ...

Glass-Ceramics of the Lithium Aluminosilicate System Nucleated by TiO2: The Role of Redox Conditions of Glass Melting in Phase Transformations and Properties

open access: yes
Lithium aluminosilicate glasses nucleated by TiO2 are usually melted in oxidizing conditions. The reducing conditions of glass melting, which allow to obtain ions of variable valence in lower oxidation states, can influence the ability of titania to ...

Architecture‐Controlled Hierarchical Carbon‐Based Current Collector for Mitigating Interfacial Instabilities in Lithium‐Metal Anodes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A defect‐engineered, hierarchically porous carbon black/CNT current collector guides lithiophilic nucleation in 3D architecture. Steam‐created defects enable uniform Li plating, while CNTs provide conductivity and a lightweight framework, suppressing dendrites and side reactions for stable anode‐free cells.

The synthesis and characterisation of lead-free piezoelectric ceramics

open access: yes, 2012
With a growing awareness of the environmental and health hazards of lead, there has been renewed interest in developing lead-free alternatives to lead zirconate titanate (PZT), which currently dominates the market for piezoelectric materials. Some of the

Efficient Direct Recycling of Spent Batteries: Integrated Lithiation and Delamination

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An integrated process for the delamination and relithiation of spent cathodes, LixNi0.6Co0.2Mn0.2O2 and LixFePO4, under open‐air conditions is proposed. The transition‐metal (Ni) oxidation state in the cathode is reduced by the oxidation of diethylene glycol, facilitating relithiation. Glycol aldehyde formation induces 100% electrode delamination.
