Achieving Diverse Functionalizations of Electron‐Deficient Aryl Halides via Carbonate‐Mediated Electron‐Donor–Acceptor Complexes

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, Volume 29, Issue 22, 9 June 2026.
We report a simple and practical electron donor–acceptor complex‐mediated method that employs inexpensive carbonate bases to activate electron‐deficient aryl iodides and bromides. The protocol enables diverse transformations, including arylation, dehalogenation, deuteration, chalcogenation, and borylation, providing a versatile platform for the ...

Phenolate‐ and Alcoholate‐Based Chromium N‐Heterocyclic Carbene Complexes: Structural Peculiarities, Magnetometric and Electron Paramagnetic Resonance Study, and Catalytic Ethylene Oligomerization

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, Volume 29, Issue 16, 4 June 2026.
The first low‐oxidation (I/III) state chromium‐complex bearing a O‐chelating NHC ligand has been synthesized and structurally characterized by single‐crystal X‐ray analysis. The formation of the mixed‐valence species was further supported by SQUID magnetometry and high‐field electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy.

Shaping Ti3C2 MXene Nanospheres for Precision Near‐Infrared Photothermal Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 46, 8 June 2026.
In this study, we report producing spherical MXenes via fs laser fragmentation of Ti3C2 flakes in liquid medium. The nanoparticles demonstrated pronounced light absorption and high photothermal conversion efficiencies of 68% and 63% under heating with NIR‐I and NIR‐II lasers, respectively.

Studies on Isotope Separation of Lithium by Electromigration in Fused Lithium Bromide and Potassium Bromide Mixture, (I) Enrichment of Lithium-7

open access: yesStudies on Isotope Separation of Lithium by Electromigration in Fused Lithium Bromide and Potassium Bromide Mixture, (I) Enrichment of Lithium-7
application/pdf Lithium-7 was enriched by electromigration at 500℃ in fused LiBr-KBr mixture. The migration cell was made of Pyrex glass ; zircon sand (100~200mesh) was used for packing material, and graphite rods as electrodes. The electromigration was carried out for 13.4 days at a constant electric current of 165mA. The distribution of the abundance

Scalable Polyelectrolyte Complex‐Based Sorbent With Hourly Sorption−Desorption Cycles for Multicyclic Atmospheric Water Harvesting in Arid Environments

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 44, 1 June 2026.
A polyelectrolyte complex‐based sorbent is produced by scalable, environmentally benign aqueous phase inversion. Its porous, LiCl‐ and GO‐integrated architecture enables hourly adsorption−desorption cycles at low relative humidity (RH < 30%). A large‐scale prototype achieves multicyclic, solar‐driven atmospheric water harvesting of 1.37 L kg−1 day−1 ...
