The ceria (CeO2) nanoparticles were synthesized by chemical processing, due to its better control on particle size and morphology. The characterization techniques named High-Resolution Transmission Electron Microscopy (HR-TEM) and Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS) were carried out to confirm the formation of ceria nanoparticles. A uniform suspension

Influence of alkalinity on effectiveness of additives in lithium greases
Chemistry and Technology of Fuels and Oils, 1987The present work has been aimed at studying the influence of excess alkali (LiOH) on the service properties and effectiveness of the additives* SIM (5% by weight), DF-11 (1% by weight), KINKh-2 (5% by weight), MoS= (5% by weight), and of combinations of these additives, in lithium greases.

Role of alkali in forming structure of lithium greases
Chemistry and Technology of Fuels and Oils, 1985The present work has been aimed at studying the influence of the high-temperature holding time ("hot-soak" time) and the melt cooling conditions on the individual stages of grease structure formation, depending on the content of alkali. In preparing the greases we used LiSt obtained in grease manufacture by neutralizing the calculated quantities of HSt

Evaluation of Calixarenes as Antioxidants in Complex Lithium Grease
Chemistry Letters, 2014Abstract The thermal stability and antioxidant performance of 4-tert-butylcalix[4]arene (B4) and 4-tert-butylcalix[8]arene (B8) were investigated and compared with those of 3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxytoluene (BHT). Both B4 and B8 were superior to BHT in thermal stability. In addition, B4 and B8 also showed obvious antioxidant capacity in

Antiwear and extreme-pressure properties of lithium greases
Chemistry and Technology of Fuels and Oils, 19751. The antiwear properties of lithium greases without additives line up with those of the dispersion media, in the following order from poorest to best: PES-3 silicone, MS-6 mineral oil, DOS (dioctyl sebacate). 2. The replacement of lithium stearate by lithium soaps of synthetic fatty acids gives lithium greases with poorer antiwear ...

Ageing Evaluation of No.2 Lithium Lubricating Grease
Advanced Materials Research, 2013Contamination, acid number, moisture, thickness and dropping point are summarized as ageing indexes of lubricating grease. Size distribution, composition and weight of contamination which influence lubricating performance most and are used to evaluate performance of lubricating grease broadly in No.2 lithium lubricating grease which is used in main ...

Continuous lithium and aluminum stearate grease manufacture
Oil & Soap, 19441. Lithium and aluminum greases can be made continuously by using heating, cooling, gelling and working stages in series. Votators can be used successfully for heating, cooling and working. The entire process from slurry to finished grease takes about 20 minutes, most of which time is in the gelling section.
