Interconversion of Optical to Terahertz Pulses in Nonlinear Beta Barium Borate Crystal
ABSTRACT Low‐temperature β‐phase barium borate (β‐BBO) is an important nonlinear crystal, widely utilized for optical second‐harmonic (SH) generation. Recent re‐measurements of refractive indices in the terahertz (THz) range reveal that β‐BBO is a positive uniaxial crystal.

Control of Intrinsic Defects in Lithium Niobate Single Crystal for Optoelectronic Applications
A single crystal of lithium niobate is an important optoelectronic material. It can be grown from direct melt only in a lithium deficient non-stoichiometric form as its stoichiometric composition exhibits incongruent melting.

Hexagonally poled lithium niobate (HEXLN)
Summary form only given. The concept of quasi-phase matching (QPM) nonlinear optical processes by periodically inverting a material's nonlinear susceptibility (/spl chi//sub 2/) is a familiar one in 1-D: a well known example is periodically-poled lithium niobate LiNbO/sub 3/ (PPLN) which is commonly used for optical frequency conversion applications.

Graphical abstract illustrating the niobic acid precipitation process applied and the product obtained. Abstract This study investigates the precipitation of niobic acid (Nb2O5.nH2O) from potassium niobate solution with addition of sulphuric acid, and its subsequent thermal conversion into niobium oxide (Nb2O5). Thermodynamic modelling with PHREEQC and

Edge treatment for spurious mode suppression in thin-film lithium niobate resonators
Thin-film lithium niobate is an attractive material for RF acoustic devices because of its high electromechanical coupling. However, due to the large coupling and the high anisotropy, thin-film lithium niobate resonators are prone to accidental ...
