Hg, As, Cr, Sn, Ni, and Se concentrations in the muscle of little tunny (Euthynnus alletteratus) from the western Algerian stock

open access: closedBiological Trace Element Research, 2021
Muscle-metal (As, Se, Hg, Sn, Cr, Ni) levels were measured in little tunny (Euthynnus alletteratus) from the western Algerian stock. Relationships between metal levels in the muscle tissues and fish fork length and total weight were examined. The accumulation of metals in muscle tissues varied in the following ascending order: Ni, Cr, Sn, Hg, Se, and ...

Accumulation of heavy metals in muscle, liver, and gonads of little tunny (Euthynnus alletteratus) from the western region of Algeria

open access: closedEnvironmental Science and Pollution Research, 2018
Cadmium, lead, zinc, and copper levels were measured in muscle, liver, and gonads of little tunny (Euthynnus alletteratus) from the western region of Algeria. Relationships between heavy metals concentrations and age, sex, sexual maturity stages, and fish size were investigated.

Spermatogenesis in little tunny Euthynnus alletteratus (Rafinesque, 1810) fished on continental shelf of Côte d’Ivoire

open access: closedScientific Journal of Biological Sciences, 2017
Testes of 406 males little tunny ( Euthynnus alletteratus ), collected over a year period from an artisanal commercial fishery, were used to morphologically and histologically assess patterns of the reproductive biology in this small tuna. Most of the specimens examined ranged in size from 35 to 82 cm FL (centimetre fork length).

Feeding ecology of little tunny Euthynnus alletteratus in the central Mediterranean Sea

open access: closedJournal of the Marine Biological Association of the United Kingdom, 2007
The feeding habits of Euthynnus alletteratus and its variations compared to predator size in the central Mediterranean Sea were investigated. The stomach contents of 187 specimens were analysed, ranging from 26.8 to 50.3 cm total length, caught by authorized experimental drift-nets.

Reproductive biology of little tunny,Euthynnus alletteratus(Rafinesque), from the north-eastern Mediterranean Sea

open access: closedJournal of Applied Ichthyology, 2008
Summary The study aimed at identifying spawning season and potential year classes reaching maturity in the north-eastern Mediterranean, an area where little information on tuna spawning is available. Gonads (60 ovaries and 36 testis) were obtained from little tunny, Euthynnus alletteratus.
