Fatty Liver and Liver Transplantation
Clinics in Liver Disease, 2009Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis are common complications of overnutrition and obesity. Segmentation of liver and liver tumor for the Liver-Workbench
SPIE Proceedings, 2011Robust and efficient segmentation tools are important for the quantification of 3D liver and liver tumor volumes which can greatly help clinicians in clinical decision-making and treatment planning. A two-module image analysis procedure which integrates two novel semi-automatic algorithms has been developed to segment 3D liver and liver tumors from ...

Of the cirrhotics, 10 are alive, with the 2 deaths resulting from cholangitis.

Lipid lowering, particularly with 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-coenzyme A reductase inhibitors ("statins"), reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease. Patients with chronic liver disease present challenges to the use of lipid medications. In the case of most liver disorders, the concern has been one of safety.
