Analysis of liver cancer detection based on image processing [PDF]
Medical imaging is the most important tool for detecting complications in the inner body of medicine. Nowadays, with the development of image processing technology as well as changing the size of photos to higher resolution images in the field of digital medical imaging, there is an efficient and accurate system for segmenting this.

Open and / or laparoscopic surgical treatment of liver hydatic cysts [PDF]
Hydatid disease is a severe parasitic disease with a widely ranging distribution. In the human being the liver is the most frequent organ affected. 1 The treatment should be individualized to the morphology, size, number and location of the cysts, that ...

Cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) promote cancer growth, invasion (metastasis), and drug resistance. Here, we identified functional and diverse circulating CAFs (cCAFs) in patients with metastatic prostate cancer (mPCa). cCAFs were found in higher numbers and were functional and diverse in mPCa patients versus healthy individuals, suggesting their ...

Latent class mixed modelling for phenotypic stratification of primary biliary cholangitis patients on first line treatment [PDF]
In patients with primary biliary cholangitis (PBC), the serum liver biochemistry measured during treatment with ursodeoxycholic acid (the UDCA response) accurately predicts long-term outcome. In this study we sought to use liver biochemistry, and in particular alkaline phosphatase (ALP), as a surrogate marker of disease activity, for phenotypic ...

Polycystic liver disease [PDF]
A 54-year-old man had an asymptomatic elevation of cytolysis-related enzymes, GGT, and alkaline phosphatase, detected at a routine laboratory study. The patient reported no alcohol abuse, no history of liver disease, and no constitutional syndrome. Physical examination showed a good general status, normal colored skin and mucosas, and no stigmata of ...

In this explorative biomarker analysis, we assessed serial sampling of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) with CellSearch in two randomized trials testing immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) in metastatic breast cancer. Our data demonstrate a prognostic potential of CTCs, most apparent 4 weeks into ICI therapy.

Exploiting full Resolution Feature Context for Liver Tumor and Vessel Segmentation via Integrate Framework: Application to Liver Tumor and Vessel 3D Reconstruction under embedded microprocessor [PDF]
Liver cancer is one of the most common malignant diseases in the world. Segmentation and labeling of liver tumors and blood vessels in CT images can provide convenience for doctors in liver tumor diagnosis and surgical intervention. In the past decades, many state-of-the-art medical image segmentation algorithms appeared during this period.
