Local moment approach to multi-orbital Anderson and Hubbard models

open access: yes, 2008
The variational local moment approach (V-LMA), being a modification of the method due to Logan {\it et al}., is presented here. The existence of local moments is taken from the outset and their values are determined through variational principle by ...

Energy Independent Solution to the Solar Neutrino Anomaly including the SNO data [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
The global data on solar neutrino rates and spectrum, including the SNO charged current rate, can be explained by LMA, LOW or the energy independent solution -- corresponding to near-maximal mixing.

Effects of Neutrino Oscillation on the Supernova Neutrino Spectrum [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
The effects of three-flavor neutrino oscillation on the supernova neutrino spectrum are studied. We calculate the expected event rate and energy spectra, and their time evolution at the Superkamiokande (SK) and the Sudbury Neutrino Observatory (SNO), by ...

Analysis of the Electrochemical Stability of Sulfide Solid Electrolyte Dry Films for Improved Dry‐Processed Solid‐State Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An adapted processing for solvent‐free argyrodite solid electrolyte films based on insights into degradation mechanisms of the widely used binder polytetrafluoroethylene is presented. By adapting the dry film processing, long‐term cycling in Si||NMC pouch cells is demonstrated over more than 1000 cycles with a capacity retention of more than 80%, and ...

PTFE‐Activated Graphene Overcomes Dispersion Challenges for Scalable Solvent‐Free Fabrication of Ultra‐Thick, High‐Performance Cathodes in Lithium Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
PTFE nanoparticle–anchored rGO (rGO@PTFE) for scalable solvent‐free fabrication of ultra‐thick, high‐density cathodes, achieving high conductivity (9.55 S cm−1), lithium transference (0.73), and improved wettability, is developed. The resulting cathode delivers 15.2 mAh cm−2 areal and 563 mAh cm−3 volumetric capacities, with full cells exhibiting 637 ...

MagPiezo: A Magnetogenetic Platform for Remote Activation of Endogenous Piezo1 Channels in Endothelial Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
MagPiezo enables wireless activation of endogenous Piezo1 channels without genetic modification using 19 nm magnetic nanoparticles and low‐intensity magnetic fields. It generates torque forces at the piconewton scale to trigger mechanotransduction in endothelial cells, standing as a novel platform to interrogate and manipulate Piezo1 activity in vitro.

Co‐Electrospinning Extracellular Matrix with Polycaprolactone Enables a Modular Approach to Balance Bioactivity and Mechanics of a Multifunctional Bone Wrap

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
The incorporation of nondigested ECM and synthetic polymers into a co‐electrospinning system enables the decoupling of bioactivity and mechanical properties within a single wrap. This technique is used to develop a multifunctional bone wrap that achieves augmented membrane durability, sustained infection control, and enhanced vascularity for use in ...
