Study on precast lightweight foamed concrete sandwich panel (PLFP) connection under flexural load [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Rapid growth of population has led to increasing demands on fast, affordable and quality housing. Nowadays, the construction industry in Malaysia has shifted from conventional method system towards Industrialized Building System (IBS).

Circulating tumor cell viability during and after radiotherapy mirrors treatment response in cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Created in BioRender. Wikman, H.

Design and load-bearing failure analysis on the adhesive connection structure of composite ship deckhouse based on submodeling method

open access: yesZhongguo Jianchuan Yanjiu
ObjectiveThis paper aims to design a practical adhesive connection structure between the composite deckhouse and the steel main hull, and to evaluate the load-bearing property and failure behavior of local joints under the overall structural loads acting

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Predicting the Ultimate Axial Load Capacity of Joints formed using V-Band Retainers [PDF]

open access: yes
V-band retainers are widely used in the automotive, aircraft and aerospace industries to connect a pair of circular flanges to provide a joint with good axial strength and torsional rigidity.

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

The Behavior of Steel Bolted Beam-Column Connection under Blast Load [PDF]

open access: yesFayoum University Journal of Engineering
Beam-column connections are one of the most critical components of steel structures. They are responsible for transferring the loads from the beams to the columns, and ensuring that the structure remains stable and strong under all loading conditions ...

Eccentrial Load on Slab-Column Connections [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
A method of predicting the strength of an eccentrically loaded concrete slab-column connection is presented. The method is based on the theory of plasticity. Upper as well as lower bound methods are used. The report deals with three cases; inner columns, edge columns and corner columns.Generally lower bound solutions are, in agreement with theory ...

Flow Enabled Target Capture Halbach‐based magnetic enrichment increases circulating tumor cell capture from blood in metastatic cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pair‐wise comparison of the CellSearch and FETCH enrichment technologies for circulating tumor cells (CTCs) from metastatic breast, prostate, and small cell lung cancer patients shows an increased capture of CTCs using FETCH enrichment. The clinical implementation of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) as a predictive tool for therapy efficacy in the ...
