Distributed load balancing

Proceedings of the 27th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 2003
Summary form only given. The authors solve a load balancing problem for parallel processors, given limited state information. The novelty of the problem is that the routing units at the parallel arrival streams of tasks have different and limited state information. This makes the problem a team problem of a distributed control problem.

Variable Load Distribution

Vulnerability, Uncertainty, and Risk, 2014
In the reliability calculation of the current structural codes, the variable load distribution is Gumbel set for one-year loads. This calculation includes two deficiencies: Firstly, the variable load distribution must be set for the working life, normally for 50 years.

Distribution transformer loading with deferred loads

2012 IEEE PES Innovative Smart Grid Technologies (ISGT), 2012
Introduction of deferrable loads such as electric vehicles, on the distribution system will have major impact on the electric utility system operations and especially the loading of the distribution transformers. This paper addresses challenges associated with overloading on the distribution transformer and offers new approach to reducing its loading ...

Load Distribution in Native Cellulose

Biomacromolecules, 2003
The properties of cellulose materials are dependent on interactions between and within the cellulose chains. To investigate the deformation behavior of cellulose and its relation to molecular straining, sheets with fibers oriented preferably in one direction were studied by dynamic FT-IR spectroscopy.

Load distribution in early osteoarthritis

Knee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy, 2016
AbstractTotal knee replacement is an accepted standard of care for the treatment of advanced knee osteoarthritis with good results in the vast majority of older patients. The use in younger and more active populations, however, remains controversial due to concerns over activity restrictions, implant survival, and patient satisfaction with the ...

Load areas in distribution systems

2015 IEEE 15th International Conference on Environment and Electrical Engineering (EEEIC), 2015
The updated and new monitoring and control functionalities for distribution systems make available a huge amount of information. Indeed, not all the available information is needed to be considered; a significant simplification could be achieved by selecting and treating only the relevant information.

Distribution Transformer Load Modeling Using Load Research Data

IEEE Power Engineering Review, 2002
Distribution network analyses require accurate estimates of transformer loads; due to lack of field measurements, data used in these studies have various degrees of uncertainties. In order to take the expected uncertainties in demand into account, many previous papers have used fuzzy load models in their studies.

Load distributing for locally distributed systems

Computer, 1992
The problem of judiciously and transparently redistributing the load of the system among its nodes so that overall performance is maximized is discussed. Several key issues in load distributing for general-purpose systems, including the motivations and design trade-offs for load-distributing algorithms, are reviewed.

Toothed Belt-Load Distribution

Journal of Mechanisms, Transmissions, and Automation in Design, 1983
A mathematical model was developed to study the effect on belt load distribution of belt material properties, pitch variations, friction force, and pulley rotation. Results are presented which show the influence on load distribution of pitch difference, tight side tension, slack side tension, belt tooth spring constant, and coefficient of friction, for

Propeller Loading Distributions

Journal of Ship Research, 1969
The present study reports the improvements made in the numerical procedure for evaluating propeller loading distributions which had been developed at Davidson Laboratory by adaptation of the unsteady-lifting-surface theory. A new approach, based on the fact that the assumed Birnbaum chordwise modes are not linearly independent, has achieved stability ...
