The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Integrated Analysis of Optimization and Settlement Characteristics in Hybrid Pile Systems for Reused Foundations

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Pile reuse is a common technique in bridge renovation projects. However, the interaction mechanisms between new and existing piles under a shared cap remain unclear, restricting the size setting and further optimization of new piles in existing pile ...

SYSTEM OF LOAD DISTRIBUTION OF SHIP DIESEL GENERATORS BASED ON NEURAL NETWORKS

open access: yesСовременные информационные технологии и IT-образование, 2018
The dependence of the specific fuel consumption of the ship diesel-generator set on the generated electric power and the power factor is given. An algorithm for load distribution between parallel marine diesel generator sets is given, taking into account

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

The Scanning of Power Deformation of Tyre Surface by Tactile Piesoresistive sensors

open access: yesAdvances in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2004
Our work describes a static non-destructive method of measuring the contact pressures of tyres. The distribution of contact pressures during the contact of the tyre with a solid base represents one of the indicators we use.

Segmental External Load in Linear Running in Elite Futsal Players: A Multifactorial and Individual Variability Analysis Using Linear Mixed Models

open access: yesSports
Limited evidence exists on how segmental external load is distributed during linear running and how it varies with speed, training intensity, and individual differences.

Distributed coordination and environmental load distribution control for omni-directional vehicle

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2014
As the demand for robots grows in society, the environments in which robots will be needed are becoming increasingly diversified. Robots will therefore have to possess high mobility so that they can maneuver safely and smoothly in these environments. One

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Research on Load Distribution and Fatigue Life Under Elliptical Deformation of Four-Point Contact Slewing Bearing Rings for Excavators

open access: yesLubricants
Excavators are critical equipment in mining, construction, and other fields. The four-point contact slewing bearings used in their slewing mechanisms operate under harsh conditions such as heavy loads and impacts. Furthermore, the bearing rings are prone
