Probabilistic techniques for three-phase load flow analysis
2003 IEEE Bologna Power Tech Conference Proceedings,, 2004Some techniques are presented to obtain the probability density functions of phase-voltages in an unbalanced three-phase power system. The techniques are based on the Monte Carlo simulation applied to the non-linear and linear three-phase load flow equations, on convolution process and on the Pearson distributions.

Parallelization of Load Flow Analysis
2016This paper has been proposed to present a simple approach for load flow analysis of a radial distribution network using parallel programming in Computationally Unified Device Architecture (CUDA). The proposed approach applies Breadth First Search to evaluate the nodes in the network and Kirchhoff’s current law (KCL) as well as Kirchhoff’s Voltage Law ...

LOAD FLOW ANALYSIS OF MULTITERMINAL HVDC/AC SYSTEMS
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1982Abstract This paper presents a load flow analysis for multi-terminal HVDC/AC system using sequential solution approach. The modelling of the DC system and the representation of the converter controls is similar to that of Reeve, Fahmy, Stott(1977), but the analysis is simplified by reducing the number of unknown variables to three per converter ...

In an automated distribution system, several tasks, such as network reconfiguration (for loss reduction, load balancing, service restoration), volt-var control, etc., are undertaken regularly to improve the performance of the system. Further, these tasks should be accomplished without violating any system constraints such as bus voltage magnitudes ...

Load Flow Analysis in Smart Grids
2018Load flow analysis is widely used to estimate the flow of various electrical parameters, such as the voltage, current and power, in power grids. These estimates allow us to effectively and reliably manage the given grid under random and uncertain conditions.

Unified load flow analysis for emerging distribution systems
2010 IEEE PES Innovative Smart Grid Technologies Conference Europe (ISGT Europe), 2010This paper proposes a unified load flow analysis for transmission and distribution systems, based on the fast decoupled power flow method (FDPF). The method is centered on an extension of the conventional per unit normalization to circumvent the problems caused by low X/R ratio faced by distribution systems. The proposed extension establishes a complex

The basic load flow problem corresponds to the situation where, for given load demands at the various load busses and for assumed generation levels at specified supply voltages, one is interested in the overall voltage profile of the power network, real and reactive flows on transmission lines and transformers, bus voltage magnitudes and phase angles ...

A comparison of load flow analysis using DistFlow, Gauss-Seidel, and optimal load flow algorithms
Conference Proceedings. IEEE Canadian Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering (Cat. No.98TH8341), 2002The state of a power system and the methods of calculating this state are extremely important in evaluating the operation of the power system, the control of this system, and the determination of future expansion for the power system. The state of the power system is determined through load flow analysis that calculates the power flowing in the lines ...

Canalicular fluid flow induced by loading waveforms: A comparative analysis
Journal of Theoretical Biology, 2019Dynamic loading on the bone is beneficial in prevention and cure of bone loss as it encourages osteogenesis (i.e., new bone formation). Loading parameters such as strain magnitude, frequency, cycles, and strain rate (depending on loading waveform) affect the new bone formation.

Hydrothermal load flow using functional analysis
Journal of Optimization Theory and Applications, 1973The hydrothermal scheduling problem is discussed. Optimal load flow solutions are obtained such that both maximum economy and reliability of the system are achieved. The scheduling problem is solved by use of functional analysis, and in this case the minimum norm formulation is employed.
