High voltage series reactors for load flow control

e & i Elektrotechnik und Informationstechnik, 2004
Liberalization efforts are continuing in electricity markets all over the world. The change from monopolistic to free market structures leads to a significant increase in the trading of electrical energy. Since current power plant operation is driven by price aspects, the load flows in the networks are mainly determined by the economic situation and ...

Load Sensing Hydraulic Flow Control - A Versatile Controller

SAE Technical Paper Series, 1978
<div class="htmlview paragraph">A simple spool valve combined with load sensing principles is used for precision flow control on demand. This type of valve, even though it has been in use for about ten years, received new attention during the energy crunch of 1974 and the subsequent interest in load sensing systems The load sensing flow control ...

Control adjustments in fast decoupled load flow

Electric Power Systems Research, 1994
Abstract The fast decoupled load flow (FDLF) method has gained wide acceptance in the power industry owing to its simplicity and computational efficiency. The critical role of control adjustments designed to simulate the control strategies of system operation in load flow solutions has long been recognized. The implementation of standard adjustments,

Control performance standards based load-frequency controller considering redox flow batteries coordinate with interline power flow controller

Journal of Power Sources, 2012
Abstract This paper proposes a sophisticate application of redox flow batteries (RFB) coordinate with Interline Power Flow Controller (IPFC) for the improvement of Load Frequency Control (LFC) of a multiple units two- area power system. The Interline Power Flow Controller is to stabilize the frequency oscillations of the inter-area mode in the ...

Flow Stealer: lightweight load balancing by stealing flows in distributed SDN controllers

Science China Information Sciences, 2017
Software-defined networking (SDN) introduces centralized controllers to increase network programmability drastically. Distributed control planes, in which multiple SDN controllers work together to manage a network, have been proposed to satisfy the requirements of large-scale networks, and different kinds of load-balancing approaches have been proposed

Load balancing of a data flow based programmable controller

Proceedings of IECON '93 - 19th Annual Conference of IEEE Industrial Electronics, 2002
In this paper the formal definition of a sequence control program used in a data flow based programmable controller is proposed. A control program is described with a data flow graph and from formalization of the graph, the incidence matrix is defined. Using this matrix, the reachability property of the control program is analyzed.

A Multiterminal HVDC Load-Flow with Flexible Control Specifications

IEEE Power Engineering Review, 1986
This paper presents a sequential ac-dc load-flow method for parallel multiterminal de networks. P.u.-expressed de equations are treated separately from ac equations and an interface is used to check and adjust their mutual convergence. A dc converter acts like a load on its ac bus; when it is a rectifier P and Q power are consumed, and when it is an ...

Flow control and dynamic load balancing in Time Warp

Proceedings 33rd Annual Simulation Symposium (SS 2000), 2002
We present an algorithm which integrates flow control and dynamic load balancing in Time Warp. The algorithm is intended for use in a distributed memory environment. Our flow control algorithm makes use of stochastic learning automata and is similar to the leaky-bucket flow control algorithm used in computer networks.

Fluidic Flow Control Devices for Gust Load Alleviation

Journal of Aircraft
A reduction in the structural weight and climate-relevant emissions of future transport aircraft can be realized through active gust load alleviation, limiting the peak aerodynamic loads experienced in flight. Two fluidic concepts, surface and Coandă jets, offer promising solutions. The surface jet induces a separated flow region on the wing’s suction
