Integral Load Frequency Control (LFC) and Inter-Area Angle Separation Regulation

International Review of Electrical Engineering (IREE), 2020
This paper presents the control of angular separation among the areas of a three-area electrical power system. This is achieved by the modification, upgrade, and adaptation of the existing load frequency control scheme. The purpose of this new control capability is to reverse the adverse effects caused by the progressive increase of angular separation ...

An Optimal Frequency Control Method Through a Dynamic Load Frequency Control (LFC) Model Incorporating Wind Farm

IEEE Systems Journal, 2018
In a high penetrated wind farm power system, wind farms can collaborate to control the power system frequency as like as conventional units. This paper presents a novel model to control the frequency of the wind farm connected to conventional units.

Load Frequency Control Method by Charge Control for Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles with LFC Signal

IEEJ Transactions on Power and Energy, 2009
In the power sector, total capacity of wind power generations has been increasing drastically. However, the wind power affects the power grid frequency and the tie-line flow adversely because of the instability of output. In particular, these problems become significant at nighttime when the capacity of Load Frequency Control (LFC) tends to be ...

DAR-LFC: A data-driven attack recovery mechanism for Load Frequency Control

International Journal of Critical Infrastructure Protection
In power systems, generation must be maintained in constant equilibrium with consumption. A key indicator for this balance is the frequency of the power grid. The load frequency control (LFC) system is responsible for maintaining the frequency close to its nominal value and the power deviation of tie-lines at their scheduled levels. However, the remote

Coordinated load frequency control between LFC unit and small sized high power energy capacitor system

2004 International Conference on Power System Technology, 2004. PowerCon 2004., 2005
This paper presents a coordinated load frequency control (LFC) scheme between the conventional LFC units and a small sized energy capacitor system with high power output. The fast charging/discharging operation is available on the ECS to balance the total power generation with the total power demand. The ECS can absorb the rapid variation of load power.

The Load-Frequency-Control (LFC) of the Energie-Versorgung Schwaben AG (EVS)

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1992
Abstract As one of the nine interconnected utilities in Germany EVS operates an own LFC since April 1st, 1990. The autonomous control system is equipped with an own telemetry system and besides the control task it also covers some additional functions like monitoring the hydraulic plants, recording and disturbance diagnosis.
