The PI Controllers and its optimal tuning for Load Frequency Control (LFC) of Hybrid Hydro-thermal Power Systems

2019 International Conference on Communication and Electronics Systems (ICCES), 2019
The maintenance and controlling of certain parameters of large-scale hydrothermal power plant is of great challenge. In this paper, certain characteristics of the hydrothermal power plant are controlled using Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) controller. The PID controller is used to get the desired response of such power plant.

Design blade pitch controller of wind turbine for load frequency control (LFC) using improved differential evolution algorithm (IDEA)

2017 International Conference on Advanced Mechatronics, Intelligent Manufacture, and Industrial Automation (ICAMIMIA), 2017
Large-scale renewable energy sources (RESs) is becoming reality all over the world due to demand of clean and environmentally friendly energy. Many developed countries have integrated RESs into the existing system. Among numerous type of RESs, wind power system is becoming more popular due to technological advances.

Minimising the effects of saturation nonlinearities on load and frequency control (LFC) in a steam power plant

1999 IEEE Africon. 5th Africon Conference in Africa (Cat. No.99CH36342), 1999
In this paper a controller is implemented to improve the performance of a steam power plant subjected to component saturation. The load frequency control problem is addressed and simulation results are presented to show the effectiveness of the controller.

Load Frequency Control (LFC) Strategy for an Isolated Microgrid Integrated with Electric Vehicles

Asian Journal of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Art
The growing demand for efficient and sustainable energy solutions has driven the widespread adoption of Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) and microgrids. However, the intermittent nature of DERs and the low inertia of isolated microgrids present significant challenges for Load Frequency Control (LFC).

Appropriate generation rate constraint (GRC) modeling method for reheat thermal units to obtain optimal load frequency controller (LFC)

2014 5th Conference on Thermal Power Plants (CTPP), 2014
This paper focuses on choosing a suitable dynamic model for simulation of generation rate constraint (GRC) for load frequency control (LFC) of an interconnected realistic reheat thermal-thermal power system. Two different dynamic models for simulation of the GRC are investigated in details which are named as open loop and closed loop GRC models.

Load frequency control (LFC) of micro-hydro power plant with Capacitive Energy Storage (CES) using Bat Algorithm (BA)

2016 International Seminar on Application for Technology of Information and Communication (ISemantic), 2016
Utilization of Microhydro Power Plant (MHPP) is more widely used in remote areas because it has advantages in economic, technical, and good nature. But the problem that often occurs is the rotation from the generator not constant because change of load by consumer.

A generic method for the capability evaluation of hydraulic power-plant to participate to the load-frequency-control (LFC)

La Houille Blanche, 2015
The capability evaluation of a hydraulic power-plant to participate to the Load Frequency-Control (LFC) requires a specific study. It aims to assess the LFC potential with respect to identified performance requirements (such as quickness and stability of the turbine governing system), but also with respect to existing functions and equipments (such as ...

Construction of fluctuation load model and dynamic simulation with LFC control of DC power system and frequency converter interconnection

IEEE/PES Transmission and Distribution Conference and Exhibition, 2003
In the first section of our paper, test measurement of fluctuation loads on a real large-scale metropolitan power system are presented. As should be expected from the theory, the fluctuation load proves to follow the normal distribution with near-zero mean value. The fluctuation load is largest in the demand rising time of morning and lunchtime domains.
