This paper presents a coordinated load frequency control (LFC) scheme between the conventional LFC units and a small sized energy capacitor system with high power output. The fast charging/discharging operation is available on the ECS to balance the total power generation with the total power demand. The ECS can absorb the rapid variation of load power.

Load Frequency Control (LFC) Strategy for an Isolated Microgrid Integrated with Electric Vehicles
Asian Journal of Science, Technology, Engineering, and ArtThe growing demand for efficient and sustainable energy solutions has driven the widespread adoption of Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) and microgrids. However, the intermittent nature of DERs and the low inertia of isolated microgrids present significant challenges for Load Frequency Control (LFC).

In the first section of our paper, test measurement of fluctuation loads on a real large-scale metropolitan power system are presented. As should be expected from the theory, the fluctuation load proves to follow the normal distribution with near-zero mean value. The fluctuation load is largest in the demand rising time of morning and lunchtime domains.

Grey Wolf Optimization to Solve Load Frequency Control of an Interconnected Power System
International Journal of Energy Optimization and Engineering, 2016In this article, a novel optimization algorithm called grey wolf optimization (GWO) with the theory of quasi-oppositional based learning (Q-OBL) is proposed for the first time to solve load frequency control (LFC) problem. An equal two-area thermal power system equipped with classical PID-controller is considered for this study.

This paper focuses on choosing a suitable dynamic model for simulation of generation rate constraint (GRC) for load frequency control (LFC) of an interconnected realistic reheat thermal-thermal power system. Two different dynamic models for simulation of the GRC are investigated in details which are named as open loop and closed loop GRC models.

Utilization of Microhydro Power Plant (MHPP) is more widely used in remote areas because it has advantages in economic, technical, and good nature. But the problem that often occurs is the rotation from the generator not constant because change of load by consumer.
