The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Analysis of Three-Level T-Type LLC Resonant Isolated Bidirectional DC–DC Converter Under Three-Degrees-of-Freedom Modulation

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2023
This paper proposes a bidirectional three-level T-type LLC resonant DC-DC converter operating with phase-shift control, which is simple and effective, variable frequency modulation to perform soft switching in a wide voltage ratio range and light loads ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

New space vector modulation algorithms applied to multilevel converters with balanced DC-link voltage [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
This work presents a survey of new space vector modulation algorithms for high power voltage source multilevel converters. These techniques provide the nearest switching vectors sequence to the reference vector and calculates the on-state durations of ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

High Performance BCD Integrated Buck-Boost Converter in an AMOLED Display with Application of Self-Triggering Frequency Modulation

open access: yesAdvances in Electrical and Computer Engineering, 2018
Feedback control for self-triggering frequency modulation is proposed for an integrated buck-boost DC-DC converter in an AMOLED display. The goal is to reduce the ripple noise and transient time during the switching process.

Improved natural balancing with modified phase shifted PWM for single-leg five-level flying-capacitor converters [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Flying capacitor converters (FCCs), as most multilevel converter topologies, require a balancing mechanism of the capacitor voltages. FCCs have the valuable property of natural voltage balancing when a special modulation technique is used.
