Vaccination reduces the viral load and the risk of transmission of Jembrana disease virus in Bali cattle

open access: yes, 2009
The efficacy of a tissue-derived vaccine, which is currently used in Indonesia to control the spread of Jembrana disease in Bali cattle, was determined by quantifying the viral load in plasma following experimental infection with Jembrana disease virus ...

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

Load-dependent modulation of affective picture processing [PDF]

open access: yesCognitive, Affective, & Behavioral Neuroscience, 2005
Because of the biological significance of emotional stimuli, their processing is considered largely automatic. In the study reported herein, we tested the alternative hypothesis-namely, that the processing of emotional stimuli requires some level of attention.

Negative Conductance Load Modulation RF Power Amplifier

open access: yes, 2010
The number of mobile wireless devices on the market has increased substantially over the last decade. The frequency spectrum has become crowded due to the number of devices demanding radio traffic and new modulation schemes have been developed to ...

Load Modulation of Harmonically Tuned Amplifiers and Application to Outphasing Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Modulation of load impedance is an effective way to maintain efficient power amplifier (PA) operation over high dynamic range modulated signals. For high efficiency, a load modulation approach can be applied to inherently efficient classes of PAs such as

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Dual RF Input Envelope Tracking Power Amplifier with Enhanced Load Modulation for Power–Efficiency–Linearity Trade-Off

open access: yesSensors
In this paper, we present an optimized driving strategy for a dual RF input envelope tracking power amplifier (ET PA) exploiting load modulation. The dual-input architecture enables dynamic load modulation (LM), allowing real-time adjustment of the load ...

Design and Analysis of Triplen Controlled Resonant Converter for Renewable Sources to Interface DC Micro Grid

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
This paper presents a triplen controller for a dc-dc resonant converter, which provides excellent load voltage regulation with respect to wide variations in input voltage from renewable sources in a dc micro grid.

The ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy as guardians of the cellular proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This Perspective covers the three principles governing the crosstalk between the ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy in cellular proteostasis: (1) a shared ubiquitin code routing substrates via shuttle factors or autophagy receptors; (2) spatial compartmentalization into phase‐separated degradation hubs and organelle‐specific modules (exemplified
