Unsupervised learning algorithm using multiple electrical low and high frequency features for the task of load disaggregation

open access: yes, 2022
Device specific power consumption information leads to a high potential for energy savings. Smart meters are currently deployed in several countries, but they are only able to track the overall consumption in domestic and commercial buildings.

Towards Personalized Recovery in Handball? The Effects of Playing Positions and Player Role on Internal Match Load and Well-Being Responses in Female Players

open access: yesApplied Sciences
The aim of this study was to analyze the effects of the playing position (backs vs. pivots vs. wings) and the player role (starter vs. non-starter) on the internal match load and well-being status of female handball players after official matches ...

Case Study on Using Non-intrusive Load Monitoring System with Renewable Energy Sources in Intelligent Grid Applications

open access: yes
This paper identifies the problem of the non-intrusive load monitoring method of load disaggregation into separate appliances, when some local generators based on renewable energy sources are connected to the same grid, as they may be mismatched with ...

Epigenetic silencing of the liver‐specific lncRNA LUNAR promotes liver cancer progression via NOTCH activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
LUNAR is a liver‐specific long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) that is highly expressed in normal liver but becomes epigenetically silenced in hepatocellular carcinoma through promoter hypermethylation. Loss of LUNAR is associated with NOTCH activation, epithelial–mesenchymal transition, and metastasis, whereas restoring LUNAR restrains metastatic progression ...

An investigation of the load-velocity relationship between flywheel eccentric and barbell training methods

open access: yesFrontiers in Public Health
ObjectiveFlywheel resistance training (FRT) is a training modality for developing lower limb athletic performance. The relationship between FRT load parameters and barbell squat loading remains ambiguous in practice, resulting in experience-driven load ...

CEACAM1 participation in breast cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In invasive breast cancer (BC), CEACAM1 shifts from an apical to a uniform membranous/cytoplasmic pattern, or is lost, as tumors dedifferentiate, inversely tracking the Ki‐67 proliferative index. In MCF‐7 cells, only CEACAM1‐4L suppresses proliferation, repressing cell cycle and growth factor genes.

Monitoring the cognitive load in competitive environments in professional women’s basketball

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology
This study aims to describe the dynamics of training loads during specific training sessions, to determine the possible differences among the metrics of Cognitive Load (CL), External Load (EL) and Internal Load (IL) between training sessions and to ...

Pharmacological chromatin remodeling enhances response to estrogen therapy in ER+ breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Estrogen therapy elicits clinical benefit in ~ 30% of patients with endocrine‐resistant estrogen receptor (ER)‐positive breast cancer. Based on findings that ER transcriptional activation underlies response to estrogen therapy, we tested the effects of epigenetic dysregulation via pharmacological inhibition of histone deacetylases (HDACi).

Control of building safety through snow load monitoring

open access: yesBudownictwo i Architektura
Climatic loading in the form of snow load is a significant factor for building structures. This is relevant during the design stage, the execution stage, and especially throughout the operational period.

Intrapatient tumour heterogeneity and clonal evolution in an autopsy study of metastatic salivary gland cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumour heterogeneity and clonal evolution of metastatic salivary gland cancer were evaluated in two patients with adenoid carcinoma and one patient with myoepithelial carcinoma. Radiology‐guided autopsy enabled multi‐region sampling (total samples n = 149), followed by whole‐genome sequencing and phylogenetic reconstruction (17 tumour samples, 4–7 per ...
