DGs for Service Restoration to Critical Loads in a Secondary Network
During a major outage in a secondary network distribution system, distributed generators (DGs) connected to the primary feeders as well as the secondary network can be used to serve critical loads. This paper proposed a resilience-oriented method to determine restoration strategies for secondary network distribution systems after a major disaster ...

Prolonging disuse in aged mice amplifies cortical but not trabecular bones’ response to mechanical loading [PDF]
Objective: Short-term neurectomy-induced disuse (SN) has been shown to restore load responses in aged mice. We examined whether this restoration was further enhanced in both cortical and trabecular bone by simply extending the SN. Methods: Following load:

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Distributed Load Restoration in Unbalanced Active Distribution Systems
The resilience of modern power systems has been constantly threatened by various natural disasters and man-made attacks. Under those threats, fast and automatic restoration actions are critical for restoring impacted systems to normal operating conditions and preventing from additional disastrous consequences.

A method for the evaluation and optimisation of power losses and reliability of supply in a distribution network [PDF]
This paper presents two methods for evaluating and optimizing the configuration of a distribution network. A new loss-optimization method is described which partitions, optimizes and then recombines the network topology to identify the lowest loss ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.
