Effect of HIV infection and antiretroviral therapy on hepatitis B virus (HBV)-specific T cell responses in patients who have resolved HBV infection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Coinfection with hepatitis B virus (HBV) is a common occurrence in human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)–positive patients and an increasing cause of morbidity and mortality.

The neural crest‐associated gene ERRFI1 is involved in melanoma progression and resistance toward targeted therapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

Dynamic Frequency-Constrained Load Restoration Considering Multi-Phase Cold Load Pickup Behaviors

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Power Systems
Cold load pickup (CLPU) behavior has great impacts on power system frequency during load restoration process. The CLPU behavior consists of not only the current inrush with extremely high magnitude in the first several seconds, but also high power demands that can last for minutes or even hours.

Reduced vascular leakage correlates with breast carcinoma T regulatory cell infiltration but not with metastatic propensity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A mouse model for vascular normalization and a human breast cancer cohort were studied to understand the relationship between vascular leakage and tumor immune suppression. For this, endothelial and immune cell RNAseq, staining for vascular function, and immune cell profiling were employed.

Dual targeting of RET and SRC synergizes in RET fusion‐positive cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Despite the strong activity of selective RET tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), resistance of RET fusion‐positive (RET+) lung cancer and thyroid cancer frequently occurs and is mainly driven by RET‐independent bypass mechanisms. Son et al. show that SRC TKIs significantly inhibit PAK and AKT survival signaling and enhance the efficacy of RET TKIs in ...

TREX1, a predator for treating MSI‐H tumors?

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Immunotherapy benefits many patients; yet, some with MSI‐H tumors remain unresponsive despite their high immunogenicity. Xu et al. reveal that TREX1 enables immune evasion by degrading cytosolic DNA and suppressing cGAS–STING–IFN‐I signaling. TREX1 loss restores DNA sensing, increases CD8+ T and NK cell infiltration, and boosts antitumor immunity ...

A Two‐Stage Emergency Reconfiguration Strategy for Port Cyber‐Physical Systems During Disasters Considering the Marginal Value Quantification of Multi‐Service Information Flows

open access: yesIET Renewable Power Generation
With the advancement of digitalization, the port is increasingly dependent on cyber systems to coordinate their multiple service operations, gradually evolving into a port cyber‐physical system (PCPS).
