Pre-treatment of Lobster Shell Using Hydrochloric Acid for Nanochitosan Production

open access: yesJournal of Marine and Coastal Science, 2023
Lobster shells are a by-product that can be used as a raw material for making chitin and chitosan. However, lobster shells contain a high amount of minerals that cover the chitin polymer on the shell.

Supernova Properties from Shock Breakout X-rays

open access: yes, 2004
We investigate the potential of the upcoming LOBSTER space observatory (due circa 2009) to detect soft X-ray flashes from shock breakout in supernovae, primarily from Type II events.

Co‐Firing Slow Solidification Process for Growing Indium‐Doped Cs3Cu2I5 Single Crystals With Record‐Breaking X‐Ray Detection Performance

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
A novel brand‐new co‐firing slow solidification process has been used to prepare Cs3Cu2I5: In single crystals (SCs), which demonstrate record‐breaking X‐ray detection performance. The regular‐shaped Cs3Cu2I5: In wafer obtains a high light yield (74 368 Ph MeV−1), which is the highest related to indium‐doped Cu‐based perovskites.

Revisiting Maine’s lobster commons: rescaling political subjects [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Calls for cross-scalar theoretical and methodological approaches are not new to commons scholarship. Such efforts might be hastened by channelling poststructuralist and critical theory perspectives through the geographic subfield of political ecology ...

Recent Advances in Pickering Emulsion Templated Phase Change Material Microcapsules: Design, Fabrication, and Multifunctional Applications

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Fabrication process of phase change microcapsules using a Pickering emulsion template method and their subsequent applications. The increasing demand for efficient thermal energy storage systems has driven the development of phase change material microcapsules (PCMMs), which provide high energy‐storage density, reversible phase change, and reduced ...

Insights into Canadian consumer perceptions and behavior in the lobster industry: Implications for sustainability and economic development

open access: yesJournal of Agriculture and Food Research
Previous research within the lobster industry has often overlooked significant determinants that influence perceptions of lobster consumption. In response, this study aims to examine Canadian perceptions toward the Canadian lobster industry and to assess

DIMENSI METRIK GRAPH LOBSTER Ln (q;r)

open access: yesE-Jurnal Matematika, 2013
The metric dimension of connected graph G is the cardinality of minimum resolving set in graph G. In this research, we study how to find the metric dimension of lobster graph Ln (q;r).

A comparison of two fishery-independent survey programs used to define the population structure of American lobster (Homarus americanus) in the Gulf of Maine [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The population structure and abundance of the American lobster (Homarus americanus) stock in the Gulf of Maine are defined by data derived from a fishery-independent trawl survey program conducted by the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS).

Facilitating Hydrogen Evolution Reaction Activity in Alkaline Water Electrolysis via Formation of Ni‐Co2P Heterojunction

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Ni‐Co2P synthesized via a co‐sputtering method exhibits enhanced hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) activity. The formation of a heterojunction between Ni and Co2P plays a crucial role in this enhancement. At the Ni‐Co2P junction, water dissociation is significantly promoted, while the Ni sites facilitate efficient hydrogen evolution.

The impact of fresh and artificial diet on growth and survival rate of spiny lobster, Panulirus homarus reared in floating net cage [PDF]

open access: yesBIO Web of Conferences
Some research found that the growth of lobster was higher when fed with fresh diet than artificial diet. Therefore, the growth of lobster that is fed with combination of fresh and artificial diets need to be observed.
