In the last decade, there has been a significant rise in the number of global social movements, generating claims of a new networked era of global social movements, in which young people often play a central role.

Object recognition from local scale-invariant features
An object recognition system has been developed that uses a new class of local image features. The features are invariant to image scaling, translation, and rotation, and partially invariant to illumination changes and affine or 3D projection.

Lignification and Oxidative Enzymes: Localization, Localization, Localization! [PDF]
Lignification of cell walls is a pivotal process in plant life. Lignin is a biopolymer that provides additional stability to secondary cell walls (SCWs), enables vascular cells to transport water, and protects the plant from pathogenic attack ([Tobimatsu and Schuetz, 2019][1]).

Aim: Whether, under all the circumstances considered, a relativistic concept of locality and non-locality may fully reproduce the quantum probabilities for outcomes of experiments, is re-investigated.Methods: The usual methods and rules of statistics, probability theory and quantum mechanics were used.

Localization Regions of Local Observables [PDF]
Exploiting the properties of the Jost-Lehmann-Dyson representation, it is shown that in 1+2 or more spacetime dimensions, a nonempty smallest localization region can be associated with each local observable (except for the c-numbers) in a theory of local observables in the sense of Araki, Haag, and Kastler. Necessary and sufficient conditions are given

This work is concerned with thermal quantum states of Hamiltonians on spin and fermionic lattice systems with short range interactions. We provide results leading to a local definition of temperature, thereby extending the notion of "intensivity of temperature" to interacting quantum models.

LOF: identifying density-based local outliers
For many KDD applications, such as detecting criminal activities in E-commerce, finding the rare instances or the outliers, can be more interesting than finding the common patterns.

Local copying and local discrimination as a study for non-locality of a set [PDF]
We focus on the non-locality concerning local copying and local discrimination, especially for a set of orthogonal maximally entangled states in prime dimensional systems, as a study of non-locality of a set of states. As a result, for such a set, we completely characterize deterministic local copiability and show that local copying is more difficult ...
