Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

A combined problem with local and nonlocal conditions for a class of mixed-type equations
This paper investigates the issues of existence and uniqueness of a solution to a combined boundary value problem with local and nonlocal conditions for a specific class of mixed elliptic-hyperbolic-type equations with singular coefficients.

An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Improved Meshless Local Boundary Integral Equation Method
Combining the local boundary integral equation with the improved moving least-square method,an improved meshless local boundary integral equation method is presented. In the improved moving least-square method, the weighted orthogonal functions are used as basis ones so that the matrix inverse at each quadrature point is avoided and the algebra equations

α‐Synuclein aggregation landscape from phase separation to neurotoxic intermediates
Alpha‐synuclein aggregation in Parkinson's disease involves a complex landscape of transient intermediates, including oligomers, fibrils and liquid–liquid phase separation (LLPS). A view is emerging in which LLPS maturation into solid‐like condensates may contribute to the formation of neurotoxic species.
