Prmt6 Deficiency or Inhibition Restores Microglial Homeostasis and Promotes Scar‐Limited Repair in Adult Spinal Cord Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
After spinal cord injury, adult microglia remain persistently activated with chronic PRMT6 (protein arginine methyltransferase 6) upregulation. Prmt6 deficiency or inhibition reestablishes microglial homeostasis and promotes a scar‐limited repairment, enhancing axonal regrowth.

Engineering Neuronal Network Connectivity Through Precise and Scalable Electrical Modulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a scalable all‐electrical method for precise neuronal‐circuit reconfiguration based on high‐density microelectrode arrays. By employing biologically inspired plasticity rules, targeted connectivity changes were successfully induced and quantified across diverse neuronal preparations.

Assessing genetic diversity of Vietnamese local chicken breeds using microsatellites

open access: yes, 2010
P>This study aimed to assess genetic diversity within and between nine Vietnamese local chicken breeds and two Chinese breeds included for comparison. Genotyping 29 microsatellites revealed high diversity of both Vietnamese and Chinese breeds.

Natural Resistance to Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome in Estrildid Finches Reveals Macrophage GPR183 as a Potential Therapeutic Target

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Ovarian macrophage depletion reverses OHSS resistance in estrildid finches and exacerbates OHSS symptoms in rats. Activating macrophage GPR183 alleviates OHSS by reducing pro‐inflammatory factors, increasing immunomodulatory molecules, remodeling CD44/SDC4‐mediated communication, and restoring immune homeostasis.

The relationship of local Swiss cattle populations with other local breeds from the Alps.

open access: yes, 2021
International audienceIn a previous study using 50k data from nine Swiss cattle dairy populations we showed that the local cattle populations Original Brown (OB), Simmental (SI), Eringer (ER) and Evolène (EV) are genetically clearly distinct from the ...

Transposase‐Assisted Donor Tethering Boosts Large‐Fragment HDR in Plants

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A transposase‐assisted donor tethering strategy is developed to enhance homology‐directed repair in plants. By recruiting donor DNA to double‐strand breaks and synergizing with repair pathway reprogramming and transcription‐coupled donor design, this system markedly improves large‐fragment targeted insertion efficiency, providing a robust platform for ...

Genomic analysis of conservation status, population structure, and admixture in local Czech and Slovak dairy goat breeds

open access: yesJournal of Dairy Science
: Although dairy goat production, characterized by traditional production on small farms, is an important source of income in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, locally adapted breeds have not been fully consolidated over the last 100 yr due to large ...

W‐N‐C Tandem Catalytic Centers Mediating Efficient Charge Transfer for the Enhanced Radical‐Path U(VI) Photoreduction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work constructed a tandem W−N−C center to simultaneously achieve the regulation of reaction pathways and optimization of charge separation efficiency. The Lewis‐acidic W6+ sites activated O2 to generate O2−$O_2^ - $, with enhanced charge separation via electronic modulation, steering U(VI) reduction down an efficient radical pathway.

LocalPork - breeding for local conditions

open access: yes, 2018
The LocalPork project aims to improve the efficiency of pork production in Brazil. Pigs in Brazil are usually fed a diet based on corn and soybean. Growing these pigs on a diet that includes local alternative ingredients raises a number of questions related to breeding for such an environment.
