Influence of an Argon/Silane Atmosphere on the Temperature of a Thermal Plasma
The influence of a silane‐doped argon atmosphere on the chemical composition and temperature of a thermal nontransferring argon plasma is investigated using optical emission spectroscopy. As a result of the high amount of free electrons resulting from the stepwise ionization and dissociation of the silane molecule, even a silane addition of 0.01 vol ...

Quaternionic Superconformal Field Theory
We develop a superfield formalism for N=4 superconformal two-dimensional field theory. A list is presented of minimal free superfields, i.e. of multiplets containing four bosons and four fermions.

On extended structures in affine Toda field theory [PDF]
Two areas of affine Toda field theory are explored in this thesis. First the introduction of a boundary into the real coupling affine Toda field theory.

A numerical–experimental framework is developed for characterizing multi‐matrix fiber‐reinforced polymers (MM‐FRPs) combining epoxy and polyurethane matrices. Harmonic bending tests are integrated with finite element model updating (FEMU) to simultaneously identify elastic and viscoelastic material parameters.

We introduce the concept of symmetry packaging for quantum field excitations: in a quantum field theory with a gauge group G, every local creation operator carries its full set of internal quantum numbers (IQNs) as a single irreducible G-block and ...

On the flow of states under $T\overline{T}$
We study the $T\overline{T}$ deformation of two dimensional quantum field theories from a Hamiltonian point of view, focusing on aspects of the theory in Lorentzian signature.

The wettability of aluminum droplets (Al) on different copper substrates (Cu), where liquid Al spreads on solid Cu surfaces to form a liquid–solid interface, is studied numerically and experimentally. The experimental and numerical results show good agreement in the fast‐spreading regime.

Class field theory and Galois cohomology
The aim of this project is to serve as a path from basic homological algebra to class field theory. The reader just needs a basic knowledge of commutative algebra and Galois theory.

A local SL(2, ℤ) transformation on the Type IIB brane configuration gives rise to an interesting class of superconformal field theories, known as the S-fold CFTs.
