Accuracy of local field enhancement models: toward predictive models?
An accurate computation of field enhancement in the vicinity of metallic nanostructures is fundamental for the prediction of different physical phenomena such as SERS or fluorescence, and also for the design of nanostructures for specific applications ...

Guiding AlphaFold to predict how Munc13‐1 opens Syntaxin‐1
The syntaxin‐1 Habc‐domain (orange), linker (pink) and SNARE motif (yellow) form a closed conformation that binds to Munc18‐1 (violet) and is opened by the Munc13‐1 MUN domain (cyan) to form the SNARE complex that triggers neurotransmitter release.

Molecular characterization of covRS mutations in M1UK Streptococcus pyogenes
Group A Streptococcus (GAS) acquires covRS mutations driving a hypervirulent bacterial state, frequently associated with invasive disease‐like necrotizing fasciitis. We demonstrate that the newly emerged M1UK GAS lineage can also acquire these mutations.

Switchable metamaterial for enhancing and localizing electromagnetic field at terahertz band
In this article, a novel metamaterial is designed aimed at generating a single electromagnetic hot spot, in order to realize the localization of the incident electromagnetic field at terahertz band, and this kind of metastructure is an ideal candidate for many research fields such as spintronics, nonlinear magnetic response, near-field optics, and ...

Hyperosmotic stress triggers the relocation of the CFIm complex from the nucleus to the cytoplasm. This shift creates a nuclear ‘stoichiometric bottleneck’, limiting CFIm availability for mRNA processing. Consequently, specific mRNAs like NUDT21 and DICER1 undergo targeted 3′UTR shortening, demonstrating how spatial protein dynamics drive rapid ...

Pathways and pitfalls: a qualitative study of student experiences in biomedical science education
Biomedical science students from underrepresented backgrounds face barriers including financial strain, disrupted laboratory access and cultural exclusion. Peer networks provide vital support when institutional systems are difficult to navigate. To create inclusive learning environments and achieve academic success, educators should blend active, hands‐
