Cooperation in local and global groups [PDF]
Multiple group memberships are the rule rather than the exception. Locally operating groups frequently offer the advantage of providing social recognition and higher marginal benefits to the individual, whereas globally operating groups may be more beneficial from a social perspective.

Galaxy pairs in the Local Group [PDF]
Abstract Current models of galaxy formation predict that galaxy pairs of comparable magnitudes should become increasingly rare with decreasing luminosity. This seems at odds with the relatively high frequency of pairings among dwarf galaxies in the Local Group. We use literature data to show that ∼30 per cent of all the satellites of the

Enlargement of A Local Group To A Group
Local lie groups are introduced by Cartan [1]. Local groups are local lie groups without topologically property. The aim of this paper is to find conditions that a local group is contained in a group . It is showed in the example 3.2 that every local groups is not gllobaly associative . Then it may not be extended to a group.

Making tau amyloid models in vitro: a crucial and underestimated challenge
This review highlights the challenges of producing in vitro amyloid assemblies of the tau protein. We review how accurately the existing protocols mimic tau deposits found in the brain of patients affected with tauopathies. We discuss the important properties that should be considered when forming amyloids and the benchmarks that should be used to ...

On the bounded cohomology of semi-simple groups, S-arithmetic groups and products [PDF]
We prove vanishing results for Lie groups and algebraic groups (over any local field) in bounded cohomology. The main result is a vanishing below twice the rank for semi-simple groups. Related rigidity results are established for S-arithmetic groups and groups over global fields.
