Intratumoral bleeding in meningioma after gamma knife radiosurgery

open access: yesJournal of Neurosurgery, 2002
Object. The authors evaluated whether gamma knife radiosurgery (GKS) could be a causative factor in intratumoral bleeding in meningiomas. Methods. Gamma knife radiosurgery was used in the treatment of 173 meningiomas during a 10-year period. Four patients suffered post-GKS intratumoral hemorrhage. The course in these patients was reviewed.

Clinical characteristics and outcomes of patients with chondroblastoma undergoing surgery with various adjuvant procedures: a retrospective study of 59 cases

open access: yesBMC Surgery
Background Chondroblastoma is classified as a benign bone tumor. However, postoperative local recurrence remains a concern. We analyzed the factors contributing to chondroblastoma local recurrence and the clinical challenges associated with treating ...

A rare case of solitary fibrous tumor of the temporal region: 7-year-follow-up clinical-radiographic evaluation and literature review

open access: yesOral and Maxillofacial Surgery Cases, 2022
Solitary fibrous tumor is a rare spindle-cell neoplasm of mesenchymal origin. In head and neck region, the tumors present slow-growing masses, often with local compressive symptoms. Although it is generally benign, malignant variants have been identified.

DSCENet: Dynamic Screening and Clinical-Enhanced Multimodal Fusion for MPNs Subtype Classification [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
The precise subtype classification of myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs) based on multimodal information, which assists clinicians in diagnosis and long-term treatment plans, is of great clinical significance. However, it remains a great challenging task due to the lack of diagnostic representativeness for local patches and the absence of diagnostic ...

Engineering CAR‐T Therapeutics for Enhanced Solid Tumor Targeting

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
CART cell therapy has proven effective for blood cancers but struggles with solid tumors due to diverse antigens and complex environments. Recent efforts focus on improving CAR design and validation platforms. Advances in protein engineering, machine learning, and organoid systems aim to enhance CAR‐T therapy against solid tumors.

Nodular Fasciitis Complicating a Staged Surgical Excision of Dermatofibrosarcoma Protuberans

open access: yesCase Reports in Dermatological Medicine, 2016
Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP) is an unusual spindle cell tumor with a high rate of local recurrence with traditional excision. Fortunately, Mohs micrographic surgery yields excellent cure rates for this neoplasm due to contiguous tumor spread ...

Local rates of Poincare recurrence for rotations and weak mixing [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2003
We study the lower and upper local rates of Poincare recurrence of rotations on the circle by means of symbolic dynamics. As a consequence, we show that if the lower rate of Poincare recurrence of an ergodic dynamical system (X,F,mu,T) is greater or equal to 1 mu-almost everywhere, then it is weakly mixing.
