We present elastomeric three‐dimensional (3D) microstructures fabricated via two‐photon polymerization (2PP) and post‐processed through wet etching, for quantifying nanonewton (nN)‐scale forces applied by healthy and diseased neural cells. The mechanically characterized free‐standing beam architectures enable measurement of traction forces of ...

On the quantum computational complexity of classical linear dynamics with geometrically local interactions: Dequantization and universality [PDF]
The simulation of large-scale classical systems in exponentially small space on quantum computers has gained attention. The prior work demonstrated that a quantum algorithm offers an exponential speedup over any classical algorithm in simulating ...

Polynomial approximation, local polynomial convexity, and degenerate CR singularities [PDF]
We provide some conditions for the graph of a Hölder-continuous function on [Formula: see text], where [Formula: see text] is a closed disk in ℂ, to be polynomially convex. Almost all sufficient conditions known to date — provided the function (say F) is smooth — arise from versions of the Weierstrass Approximation Theorem on [Formula: see text ...

Intrinsic material dynamics are harnessed as computational resources for neuromorphic in‐materio physical reservoir computing. Defects, ionic motion, interfaces, percolation, geometry, and biasing shape transient states that provide fading memory, nonlinearity, and high‐dimensional projection for simple readout. A descriptor‐to‐dynamics framework links

Local Polynomial $$L_p$$-norm Regression
The local least squares estimator for a regression curve cannot provide optimal results when non-Gaussian noise is present. Both theoretical and empirical evidence suggests that residuals often exhibit distributional properties different from those of a normal distribution, making it worthwhile to consider estimation based on other norms.

Laser‐Induced Local De‐Doping in Organic Semiconductors
The polymer PBTTT‐C14 doped with the small molecule acceptor F4TCNQ is considered as a benchmark material system. Mask‐free, microscale patterning of the doping level via laser‐induced heating and sublimation of dopant molecules is shown. Controlling laser irradiance and swath spacing allows dopant level control with laser‐limited resolution, opening ...

Polynomial entropy on regular curves
We show that the polynomial entropy of homeomorphisms on regular curves is bounded above by one. Moreover, the polynomial entropy equals one under the fairly mild condition that the homeomorphism possesses a wandering point.
