The recent shift of emphasis to on-farm conservation is driven by its diverse attractive features - participatory nature, dynamic nature, capacity to maintain not only crop diversity but the knowledge that evolves with it, the chance it offers and the ...

LOCAL FINITENESS IN VARIETIES OF MS4-ALGEBRAS
Abstract It is a classic result of Segerberg and Maksimova that a variety of $\mathsf {S4}$ -algebras is locally finite iff it is of finite depth. Since the logic $\mathsf {MS4}$ (monadic $\mathsf {S4}$ ) axiomatizes the one-variable fragment of ...

Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

The tropical variety of an ideal was introduced by D.Speyer and B.Sturmfels. In this paper, we will give an analogous definition of local tropical varieties and prove analogous theorems in the formal power series ring. We will also discuss about relations between the local Groebner fan and local tropical variety.

Local Intersection Cohomology of Varieties of Complexes
Abstract We compute the local intersection cohomology of the irreducible components of varieties of complexes by using Lusztig’s geometric approach to quantum groups and explicit constructions of elements of Lusztig’s canonical bases.

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

Local models of Shimura varieties and a conjecture of Kottwitz [PDF]
We give a group theoretic definition of “local models” as sought after in the theory of Shimura varieties. These are projective schemes over the integers of a p-adic local field that are expected to model the singularities of integral models of Shimura ...

Families of Canonical Local Periods on Spherical Varieties
We consider the variation of canonical local periods on spherical varieties proposed by Sakellaridis-Venkatesh in families. We formulate conjectures for the rationality and meromorphic property of canonical local periods and establish these conjectures ...

Evolutionarily divergent DUF4465 domains have a common vitamin B12‐binding function
We show that DUF4465 family proteins, widespread across bacteria from gut microbiomes, hydrothermal vents, and soil, share a common vitamin B12‐binding function. These augmented β‐jellyroll proteins bind vitamin B12 via extended loops. Our findings establish sequence‐diverse DUF4465 proteins as a widespread class of B12‐binding proteins, highlighting ...

Changes in Characteristics of NSW Wheat Varieties, 1965-1997
A study was made of the changes from 1965 to 1997 in wheat varieties grown in selected shires representing farming systems across NSW. The eight shires examined were Wagga, Temora, Cowra, Carrathool, Lachlan, Coonabarabran, Gunnedah and Narrabri. In each
