Liquid biopsy‐based diagnostic evaluation of hypermethylated CpG sites for ovarian cancer diagnosis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This schematic outlines the workflow from biomarker identification to duplex MethyLight assay validation for epithelial ovarian cancer diagnosis using cfDNA‐based liquid biopsy. Initial screening of hypermethylated CpG candidates (cg02957270, cg10061138 cg00480298, COL2A1) was performed in tissue using ARMS‐PCR, COBRA, qPCR and image analysis. Selected

In Vitro Regeneration of Southern Italian Grapevine Cultivars from Embryogenic Calluses and Protoplasts

open access: yesPlants
Efficiency in vitro regeneration is a crucial prerequisite for the application of New Nenomics Techniques (NGTs) in grapevine (Vitis vinifera L.) for improving resistance to biotic and abiotic stresses. This is especially true given that their management

GENETIC RELATEDNESS OF LOCAL VARIETIES OF RICE SOUTH SUMATRA BASED ON POLYMERASE CHAIN REACTION – RANDOM AMPLIFIED POLYMORPHIC DNA (PCR-RAPD)

open access: yesSriwijaya Journal of Environment, 2017
Diversity 22 local varieties of rice South Sumatra has the potential to be developed into rice varieties. The similarity (similarity) among 22 local varieties of rice South Sumatra became one of the obstacles for scientists to develop rice varieties. One

Locally finite M-solid varieties of semigroups

open access: yesDiscussiones Mathematicae - General Algebra and Applications, 2003
For a semigroup term \(f(x,y)\) in the variables \(x\) and \(y\), let \(\sigma_f\) stand for the corresponding hypersubstitution. The authors prove that the largest \(M\)-solid semigroup variety \(V_M\) (where \(M\) is a monoid of hypersubstitutions) is locally finite if and only if \(M\) contains one of the hypersubstitutions \(\sigma_{xyx}\) or ...

Weakening the nuclear envelope: Lamin B receptor in melanoma metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
LBR‐driven nuclear fragility supports melanoma invasion. A: Melanocyte presents low LBR (Lamin B Receptor) levels, maintaining nuclear integrity and lamina‐chromatin tethering. B: During malignant progression, upregulation of LBR clusters at the INM (Inner Nuclear Membrane) during confined migration causes local lamina weakening and cholesterol ...

Valorisation of local red varieties in diversifying wine assortment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The present range of moldovian black grain grape varieties is composed mostly of french classics, as well as clones of these varieties. On global wine market several countries with great diligence promote wines from local varieties.

Towards a theory of local Shimura varieties

open access: yes, 2014
This is a survey article that advertises the idea that there should exist a theory of p-adic local analogues of Shimura varieties. Prime examples are the towers of rigid-analytic spaces defined by Rapoport–Zink spaces, and we also review their theory in ...

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

PAK1 activation drives divergent resistance mechanisms to aromatase inhibition and tamoxifen in a luminal: A breast cancer model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Breast cancer remains a major cause of cancer death in women, frequently developing endocrine therapy resistance. This study demonstrates that upregulated p21‐activated kinase 1 (PAK1) activity drives resistance to tamoxifen and long‐term estrogen deprivation in ER+ breast cancer models.

Polarization‐resolved femtosecond Vis/IR spectroscopy tailored for resolving weak signals in biological samples using minimal sample volume

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐
