Slicing points in a pointfree adjunction for $T_D$ partial spaces [PDF]

open access: yesCategories and General Algebraic Structures with Applications
The $T_D$ axiom, a low order separation axiom between $T_0$ and $T_1$, has been of interest to classical topologists for some time; latterly it has also proved interesting to pointfree topologists.

Cone beam CT augmented fluoroscopy allows safe and efficient diagnosis of a difficult lung nodule

open access: yesBMC Pulmonary Medicine, 2021
Background Detection of small peripheral lung nodules is constantly increasing with the development of low dose computed tomography lung cancer screening programs.

Local and 2-Local Derivations of Locally Simple Lie Algebras

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Sciences, 2022
In the present paper, we study local and 2-local derivations of the classical locally simple Lie algebras. Firstly, we prove that every local and 2-local derivations on classical locally simple Lie algebra is a derivation. Further, we show that every local derivation of Borel subalgebras of locally simple Lie algebras is a derivation.

Bronchial thermoplasty in severe asthma: a real-world study on efficacy and gene profiling

open access: yesAllergy, Asthma & Clinical Immunology, 2022
Background Bronchial thermoplasty (BT) is an effective treatment in severe asthma. How to select patients who more likely benefit from BT is an unmet clinical need. Moreover, mechanisms of BT efficacy are still largely unknown.

Blockage of interleukin-1β with canakinumab in patients with Covid-19

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2020
There is the urgent need to study the effects of immunomodulating agents as therapy for Covid-19. An observational, cohort, prospective study with 30 days of observation was carried out to assess clinical outcomes in 88 patients hospitalized for Covid-19

A little more on ideals associated with sublocales [PDF]

open access: yesCategories and General Algebraic Structures with Applications
As usual, let $\mathcal RL$ denote the ring of real-valued continuous functions on a completely regular frame $L$. Let $\beta L$ and  $\lambda L$ denote the  Stone-\v{C}ech compactification of $L$ and the Lindel\"of coreflection of $L$, respectively ...

Translating submachine locality into locality of reference [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Parallel and Distributed Computing, 2006
Summary form only given. The design of algorithms exhibiting a high degree of temporal and spatial locality of reference is crucial to attain good performance on current and foreseeable computing systems featuring ever deeper memory hierarchies. Previous work has demonstrated that task parallelism can be efficiently transformed into locality of ...

β-Normality in locales

open access: yesApplied General Topology
In this paper, we establish the theory of β-normal locales which are the point- free counterparts of β-normal spaces which were introduced by Arkhangel’skii and Ludwig.

A note on semi-regular locales [PDF]

open access: yesCategories and General Algebraic Structures with Applications, 2013
Semi-regular locales are extensions of the classical semiregular spaces. We investigate the conditions such that semi-regularization is a functor. We also investigate the conditions such that semi-regularization is a reflection or coreflection.

Lung "holes" after cryobiopsy: a case report

open access: yesBMC Pulmonary Medicine, 2021
Background Transbronchial lung cryobiopsy is a safe technique increasingly used in the study of lung diseases. Until now, only a case of pneumatocele was described but this interesting condition is probably underestimated because CT scan is routinely not
