Localization Regions of Local Observables [PDF]

open access: yesCommunications in Mathematical Physics, 2000
Exploiting the properties of the Jost-Lehmann-Dyson representation, it is shown that in 1+2 or more spacetime dimensions, a nonempty smallest localization region can be associated with each local observable (except for the c-numbers) in a theory of local observables in the sense of Araki, Haag, and Kastler. Necessary and sufficient conditions are given

Spatially resolved, high-dimensional transcriptomics sorts out the evolution of biphasic malignant pleural mesothelioma: new paradigms for immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Cancer, 2023
Background Malignant Pleural Mesothelioma (MPM) is a dreadful disease escaping the classical genetic model of cancer evolution and characterized by wide heterogeneity and transcriptional plasticity.

Gelfand spectra in Grothendieck toposes using geometric mathematics [PDF]

open access: yesElectronic Proceedings in Theoretical Computer Science, 2014
In the (covariant) topos approach to quantum theory by Heunen, Landsman and Spitters, one associates to each unital C*-algebra, A, a topos T(A) of sheaves on a locale and a commutative C*-algebra, a, within that topos.

Local DCPOs, Local CPOs and Local Completions

open access: yesElectronic Notes in Theoretical Computer Science, 1999
AbstractWe use a subfamily of the Scott-closed sets of a poset to form a local completion of the poset. This is simultaneously a topological analogue of the ideal completion of a poset and a generalization of the sobrification of a topological space. After we show that our construction is the object level of a left adjoint to the forgetful functor from

Primary extra-uterine and extra-ovarian mullerian adenosarcoma: case report and literature review

open access: yesBMC Cancer, 2018
Background Extra-uterine mullerian adenosarcomas have varying biological behaviours depending on the presence of endometriosis or sarcomatous overgrowth. These behaviours manifest according to the tumours’ histological characteristics and sites of origin.

Pleural mesothelioma: When echo‐endoscopy (EUS‐B‐FNA) leads to diagnosis in a minimally invasive way

open access: yesThoracic Cancer, 2021
Malignant pleural mesothelioma (MPM) is an asbestos‐related and locally invasive tumor with poor prognosis. The acquisition of histological material is mandatory in order to establish a diagnosis.

European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline and EXPeRT Recommendations for the Diagnosis and Management of Gastroenteropancreatic Neuroendocrine Neoplasms in Children and Adolescents

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pediatric gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP‐NENs) are extremely rare and clinically heterogeneous. Management has largely been extrapolated from adult practice. This European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline (ESCP), developed by the EXPeRT network in collaboration with adult NEN experts, provides (adult) evidence ...

Local perturbations perturb—exponentially–locally [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Physics, 2015
We elaborate on the principle that for gapped quantum spin systems with local interaction, “local perturbations [in the Hamiltonian] perturb locally [the groundstate].” This principle was established by Bachmann et al. [Commun. Math. Phys. 309, 835–871 (2012)], relying on the “spectral flow technique” or “quasi-adiabatic continuation” [M. B.
