Local sleep

open access: yesSleep Medicine Reviews, 2019
The historic sleep regulatory paradigm invokes "top-down" imposition of sleep on the brain by sleep regulatory circuits. While remaining conceptually useful, many sleep phenomena are difficult to explain using that paradigm, including, unilateral sleep, sleep-walking, and poor performance after sleep deprivation.

About Locality and the Relativity Principle Beyond Special Relativity

open access: yes, 2011
Locality of interactions is an essential ingredient of Special Relativity. Recently, a new framework under the name of relative locality \cite{AmelinoCamelia:2011bm} has been proposed as a way to consider Planckian modifications of the relativistic ...

Local Homology and Local Cohomology

open access: yes, 2004
Let $(R, {\frak m})$ be a local ring, $I$ a proper ideal of $R$ and $M$ a finitely generated $R$-module of dimension $d$. We discuss the local homology modules of $H^d_I(M)$. When $M$ is Cohen-Macaulay, it is proved that $H^d_{\frak m}(M)$ is co-Cohen-Macaulay of N.dimension $d$ and $H^{\underline{x}}_d(H^d_{\frak m}(M))\cong\hat{M}$ where $\underline ...

EPR, Bell, and Quantum Locality

open access: yes, 2011
Maudlin has claimed that no local theory can reproduce the predictions of standard quantum mechanics that violate Bell's inequality for Bohm's version (two spin-half particles in a singlet state) of the Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen problem. It is argued that,
