Immunotherapy for locally advanced and metastatic basal cell carcinoma: a narrative review
Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is the most common malignancy of humankind, characterized by its low propensity for metastasis and its high recurrence rate. Surgical intervention is the predominant therapeutic approach. However, for cases of locally advanced BCC (laBCC) and metastatic BCC (mBCC), systematic therapy may be the first option.

ABSTRACT Introduction Sinonasal cancers are rare and heterogeneous and pose a therapeutic challenge at an advanced stage due to the lack of data on appropriate systemic management. Methods This retrospective multicenter study analyzed 83 patients with recurrent or metastatic sinonasal carcinomas ineligible for curative treatment, treated in France ...

ABSTRACT Background Supportive care needs of patients receiving immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) for head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) are ill‐defined. Hence, known treatment‐related adverse events (TRAEs) and health‐related quality of life (HRQoL) associated with ICI treatment for HNSCC were examined to inform future supportive care ...

ABSTRACT Background Postoperative radiotherapy is the standard treatment for locally advanced oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC); however, the indication for neck irradiation (NI) in pN0 patients remains debatable. We evaluated whether the omission of NI compromises outcomes in pT3–T4 pN0 patients treated with adequate neck dissection (ND).

ABSTRACT Background The benefit of consolidation programmed cell death protein 1 (PD‐1) blockade after chemoradiotherapy in locoregionally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) remains unclear. Methods Patients with stages II–IVB NPC were randomized (2:1) to pembrolizumab 200 mg or placebo every 3 weeks for up to 17 cycles after chemoradiotherapy ...

Abstract Lessons Learned Osimertinib has confirmed effectiveness in this real‐world population of patients with EGFR‐mutant advanced non‐small cell lung cancer. Thromboembolic events occur more frequently than previously reported, suggesting a thrombotic diathesis that requires further investigation. Patients with at least three metastatic sites, brain

Experiences on the Treatment of Locally Advanced Basal Cell Carcinoma with Vismodegib
Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is the most common skin cancer. At early stages, various topical treatments or light surgical procedures will give effective results. However, when the commonly used treatments are not appropriated, the hedgehog signaling inhibitor may be considered.

ABSTRACT Background Neoadjuvant chemoimmunotherapy is being explored in locally advanced head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC), yet the spatial patterns of pathologic response and clinical implications remain poorly characterized. Methods A 79‐year‐old female with recurrent left oral tongue SCC (PD‐L122C3 Combined Positive Score 90) who ...
