Rough-wall boundary layers: mean flow universality

open access: yes, 2007
Mean flow profiles, skin friction, and integral parameters for boundary layers developing naturally over a wide variety of fully aerodynamically rough surfaces are presented and discussed. The momentum thickness Reynolds number Re?

Functional Blood‐Brain Barrier Crossing by Biomimetic M13 Phage Vectors for Targeted Neuronal Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates the M13 bacteriophage as a biomimetic nanovector capable of crossing in vitro models of the blood–brain barrier. By exploiting peculiar transcellular pathways, M13 avoids lysosomal degradation and preserves its structural integrity and functionality.

Engineered AuNPs/fMWCNT Nanocomposite Electrodes for High‐Sensitivity Methylglyoxal Sensing in Saliva and Sweat for Non‐Invasive Diabetes Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
An AuNPs/fMWCNT nanocomposite‐modified screen‐printed carbon electrode was engineered via sequential electrodeposition and integrated into a 3D‐printed microfluidic platform for ultrasensitive methylglyoxal detection. The non‐invasive sensing platform enables rapid analysis in saliva and sweat, highlighting strong potential for wearable point‐of‐care ...

Transient Charging of Mixed Ionic‐Electronic Conductors by Anomalous Diffusion

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This article explores charge transport in mixed ionic‐electronic conductors (MIECs) through electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and transient current analysis. Focusing on PEDOT:PSS, WO3, and n‐doped PBDF, it uncovers the impact of anomalous diffusion via fractional modeling. The study reveals key correlations that deepen understanding and guide the

Counterintuitive Fluorescence Blue Shift in Symmetry Breaking Dicationic Bis(indolium) with Two‐Photon Absorption Properties for NIR Living Cell Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Highly water‐soluble dicationic bis(indolium) dyes have been prepared, showing excellent two‐photon absorption and light emission. Their fluorescence behavior discloses an unusual increasing blue shift with increasing solvent polarity, which, in parallel, is beneficial for enhanced detection in biological media.

GEOMETRIC-MEAN INTERPOLATION FOR LOGARITHMIC NUMBER SYSTEMS

open access: yes, 2008
A new hardware implementation of linear-Lagrange interpolation is proposed where the interpolation line is approximated as the geometric mean of the slopes at the endpoints of the interpolation interval.
