Polyfluoroalkyl‐Tagged Cell‐Penetrating Peptide‐Additives Enhance Intracellular Protein Delivery via Sustained Monomeric Lipid Interaction

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
We introduce cell‐penetrating peptides (CPPs) with polyfluoroalkyl‐tags that drastically enhance intracellular protein delivery by promoting membrane retention. Via the combination of live‐cell imaging, biophysical analysis, and computational simulations, we reveal how fluorous CPPs interact with membranes via monomeric interactions and dynamic tag ...

Research on Parametric Form Design Based on Natural Patterns

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
Parametric form design method based on natural patterns is proposed for the design schema of the traditional form bionics. Firstly, the concepts of natural patterns are analyzed, concluded and summarized.

Effect of fluid forces on rotor stability of centrifugal compressors and pumps [PDF]

open access: yes
A simple two dimensional model for calculating the rotordynamic effects of the impeller force in centrifugal compressors and pumps is presented. It is based on potential flow theory with singularities.

The Elliptic Logarithmic Spiral—a New Curve [PDF]

open access: yesNature, 1922
IF, in an elastic system with one degree of freedom, and friction proportional to the velocity, the relation of the “free” force to the displacement be considered, an interesting curve results.

Oldest well‐preserved euprimate petrosal, from the early Eocene of India (Vastan Lignite Mine, Gujarat)

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract An exquisitely preserved, isolated partial petrosal with associated fragmentary stapes is described from the Vastan Lignite Mine (Gujarat, India), dated to the early Eocene (~54.5 Ma). Several anatomical traits (e.g., large petrosal plate; posterolateral entry of the internal carotid artery to the tympanic cavity; bony tubes surrounding the ...

Generation of a galactic chronology with impact ages and spiral arm tangents

open access: yesScientific Reports
Resolving the role of galactic processes in Solar System/Earth events necessitates a robust temporal model. However, astrophysical theory diverges with models varying from long-lasting spiral density waves with uniform pattern speeds and arm structures ...

Linear Instability of Symmetric Logarithmic Spiral Vortex Sheets

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Fluid Mechanics
We consider Alexander spirals with $M\geq 3$ branches, that is symmetric logarithmic spiral vortex sheets. We show that such vortex sheets are linearly unstable in the $L^\infty$ (Kelvin-Helmholtz) sense, as solutions to the Birkhoff-Rott equation.

The Benjamin–Ono Equation in the Zero‐Dispersion Limit for Rational Initial Data: Generation of Dispersive Shock Waves

open access: yesCommunications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The leading‐order asymptotic behavior of the solution of the Cauchy initial‐value problem for the Benjamin–Ono equation in L2(R)$L^2(\mathbb {R})$ is obtained explicitly for generic rational initial data u0$u_0$. An explicit asymptotic wave profile uZD(t,x;ε)$u^\mathrm{ZD}(t,x;\epsilon)$ is given, in terms of the branches of the multivalued ...

How Institutional Environments Shape the ESG–Growth Relation: Evidence From Europe

open access: yesCorporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT As global financial markets increasingly integrate non‐financial criteria, companies are reinforcing the strategic role of sustainability and its impact on market value, although this cannot overlook how different institutional structures shape investor perceptions.

Plasmakristall‐4 Experiment: 10 Years of Operation in Orbit

open access: yesContributions to Plasma Physics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Plasmakristall‐4 (PK‐4) is a microgravity complex plasma laboratory operated for 10 years on board the International Space Station. Its main purpose is the particle‐resolved investigation of generic condensed matter phenomena using strongly coupled suspensions of microparticles immersed in low‐pressure gas‐discharge plasmas.
