Three-dimensional generalized logarithmic spirals
The family of generalized logarithmic spirals including a control parameter is extended to the three-dimensional case. The in-plane motion is decoupled from the out-of-plane motion in such a way that the integrals of motion found in the planar problem are still preserved in the three-dimensional case. Designing a low-thrust orbit transfer decomposes in

An Unfolding Story: AlphaFold's View on Protein Flexibility
AlphaFold confidence measures allow for detailed proteome‐wide characterization of protein flexibility. All flexibility measures increased substantially in the evolutionary transition from prokaryota to eukaryota. ABSTRACT The AlphaFold confidence measures are related to conformation distribution of the protein.

Bio‐inspired nanophotonics: Structural color, chirality, and resonance metasurfaces
A butterfly‐wing‐inspired anisotropic plasmonic flatband resonant metasurface. Insets, photo of the butterfly, Sasakia charonda, and the SEM image of its wing scale (above); the SEM image of the metasurface (below). Abstract The dazzling colors of butterfly wings and hummingbird feathers are not painted with pigments, but crafted by nature's invisible ...

ABSTRACT As emerging environmental contaminants, nano‐ and micro‐plastics (NMPs) have drawn increasing research attention due to potential hazards to organisms. Particle shape is a key factor influencing the toxic effects of NMPs, and NMPs of different shapes cause varying degrees of tissue damage. We investigated the specific mechanisms of polystyrene

Well-posedness of logarithmic spiral vortex sheets
We consider a family of 2D logarithmic spiral vortex sheets which include the celebrated spirals introduced by Prandtl (Vorträge aus dem Gebiete der Hydro- und Aero-dynamik, 1922) and by Alexander (Phys. Fluids, 1971). We prove that for each such spiral the normal component of the velocity field remains continuous across the spiral.

ABSTRACT Background Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) serves as a medium for nutrient delivery and waste clearance. The T1 relaxation rate, R1, can be used to measure the concentration of intrinsic solutes and extrinsic contrast agents. Purpose To implement a method for R1 mapping and segmentation of CSF and to use this method to explore how R1 of CSF relates ...

Golden Ratio Flap Designed Using the Golden Ratio Rectangle
Background:. Rotation flaps are arcuate repairs that redistribute tension vectors and recruit adjacent and/or distant tissue laxity. The incision curve could be a logarithmic spiral curve to reduce the length of an incision.

ABSTRACT Intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM) MRI allows for simultaneous assessment of tissue microcirculation (perfusion) and diffusion of water. In single‐center studies, IVIM has shown great potential for diagnosis, treatment outcome prediction, and treatment monitoring for many different diseases and organs.
