Bistable Mechanisms 3D Printing for Mechanically Programmable Vibration Control
This work introduces a 3D‐printed bistable mechanism integrated into tuned mass dampers (TMDs) for mechanically adaptive passive vibration suppression. Through optimized geometry, the bistable design provides adaptable vibration reduction across a broad range of scenarios, achieving effective vibration mitigation without complex controls or external ...

The free recall search process introduces errors in short term memory but apparently not in long term memory [PDF]
Here it is reported that the free recall search process increases the error rate for short term memory (about 1% per second in data from Murdock & Okada (1970)) but not for long term memory (in data from McDermott (1996)).

Controlling the size and distribution of dispersoids is essential for optimizing the performance of oxide‐dispersion‐strengthened steels. This study focuses on nanoparticle dispersion and agglomeration during laser additive manufacturing of Fe20Cr alloy reinforced with ZrO 2 nanoparticles. Utilizing multiphysics phase‐field simulations and nanoparticle

Impacts of Device Geometry and Layout on Temperature Profile during Large‐Area Photonic Curing
The study investigates how gate geometry affects peak curing temperature during photonic curing of solution‐processed indium zinc oxide thin‐film transistors. Using 3D simulations and experimental validation, it reveals that larger gate areas and smaller aspect ratios increase curing temperature and thus improve transistor performance. Findings provide

Shape Memory Polymer‐Based Hook‐and‐Loop Fastener for Robust Bonding and on‐Demand Easy Separation
A 3D shape memory polymer‐based hook‐and‐loop fastener, fabricated using projection microstereolithography and molding, offers tunable bonding strength through temperature control. When heated from 25 to 70 °C, the fastener softens and deforms easily, reducing bonding strength by 20‐fold for on‐demand easy separation.

Organization and long-term memory search [PDF]
A recognition RT paradigm was used to assess a number of plausible search strategies in LTM for categorized lists. List length was determined by factorially combining two, three, or five categories with two, three, or five words per category, and test items could be one of four types: (1) positive, (2) a repeated positive, (3) a related negative, or (4)

Long-term memory effects on working memory updating development.
Long-term memory (LTM) associations appear as important to cognition as single memory contents. Previous studies on updating development have focused on cognitive processes and components, whereas our investigation examines how contents, associated with ...
