Comparison Between Single-Longitudinal-Mode and Two-Longitudinal-Mode Pumping Cavity OPSMMWL

International Journal of Infrared and Millimeter Waves, 2002
A CO2 infrared laser system with a etalon to be the longitudinal mode select equipment was set up to be the optically pump source, as well as a mini NH3 with 20cm long sample tube to be the sub-millimeter wave laser. CO2-9R(16) line was chose to pump the mini-NH3 SMMW laser, and 90.4um SMMW line was obtained by single-longtudinal-mode or two ...

Transverse-mode selection in single-longitudinal-mode lasers

Physical Review A, 1996
In this paper we analyze the transverse pattern-forming characteristics of a two-level and single-longitudinalmode laser. The corrections to the classical empty cavity modes due to pumping and losses are specifically considered, leading to different excitation rates for the different transverse modes.

Longitudinal modes of hybrid ring lasers

Applied Optics, 1990
A ring laser with a beam splitter, an external reverse wave suppressor mirror, and an internal two-way coupling mirror exhibits both traveling wave and standing wave characteristics. A simple 1-D model of this hybrid laser is used to find the frequencies and losses of the steady state longitudinal modes, which depend on the mirror reflectivities and ...

Longitudinal Mode Spectra of Diode Lasers

Topical Meeting on Integrated and Guided-Wave Optics, 1982
Among the many factors(1) considered as influencing the longitudinal mode spectra of diode lasers are inhomogeneous broadening(2), lateral charge inhomogeneity(3), intensity induced longitudinal charge periodicity(4) and spontaneous emission driving the longitudinal modes(5).

Longitudinal modes, transverse modes and velocity correlations in liquids. III

Journal of Physics C: Solid State Physics, 1978
By constructing a microscopic form for the velocity field the author's have derived an expression for the velocity autocorrelation function in a simple liquid. It represents an analysis of the correlation function in terms of the longitudinal and transverse momentum current densities and correctly describes both the long and short time behaviour.
