Successful treatment of diabetic infections utilizing vessel loop gradual closure: Case report and technique guide

open access: yesFoot & Ankle Surgery: Techniques, Reports & Cases, 2022
Treating necrotizing diabetic infections can lead to significant loss of skin and soft tissue, making primary closure ill-advised. Managing large diabetic wounds is challenging and more so in community hospitals with limited resources and specialists.1 ...

LiDAR Iris for Loop-Closure Detection [PDF]

open access: yes2020 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS), 2020
In this paper, a global descriptor for a LiDAR point cloud, called LiDAR Iris, is proposed for fast and accurate loop-closure detection. A binary signature image can be obtained for each point cloud after several LoG-Gabor filtering and thresholding operations on the LiDAR-Iris image representation.

A Robust and Efficient Loop Closure Detection Approach for Hybrid Ground/Aerial Vehicles

open access: yesDrones, 2023
Frequent and dramatic viewpoint changes make loop closure detection of hybrid ground/aerial vehicles extremely challenging. To address this issue, we present a robust and efficient loop closure detection approach based on the state-of-the-art ...

A Real‐Time and Fast LiDAR–IMU–GNSS SLAM System with Point Cloud Semantic Graph Descriptor Loop‐Closure Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, 2023
Herein, a real‐time, fast, tightly coupled simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) system is proposed. The deep neural network is used to segment the point cloud semantically to construct the point cloud semantic map descriptor, and the global ...

PLSAV: Parallel loop searching and verifying for loop closure detection

open access: yesIET Intelligent Transport Systems, 2021
Visual simultaneous localization and mapping (vSLAM), one of the most important applications in autonomous vehicles and robots to estimate the position and pose using inexpensive visual sensors, suffers from error accumulation for long‐term navigation ...

Lightweight Unsupervised Deep Loop Closure

open access: yesRobotics: Science and Systems XIV, 2018
Robust efficient loop closure detection is essential for large-scale real-time SLAM. In this paper, we propose a novel unsupervised deep neural network architecture of a feature embedding for visual loop closure that is both reliable and compact. Our model is built upon the autoencoder architecture, tailored specifically to the problem at hand.

Low albumin level and longer interval to closure increase the early complications after ileostomy closure

open access: yesAsian Journal of Surgery, 2021
Background: Loop ileostomy has an important role in mitigating the serious effects of anastomotic leakage in colorectal surgery. However, the morbidity and mortality associated with ileostomy reversal cannot be overlooked.

Comparing Cosmetic Results of Purse-String Closure vs Conventional Linear Sutured Closure of the Stoma Wound Following Loop Ileostomy Reversal

open access: yesTurkish Journal of Colorectal Disease, 2018
Aim: Currently, conventional linear sutured closure of the skin following loop ileostomy reversal is widely used. Recently, The purse-string closure technique has been described as an approach associated with less wound infection and scar formation.

Detecting Loop Closure with Scene Sequences

open access: yesInternational Journal of Computer Vision, 2007
This paper is concerned with "loop closing" for mobile robots. Loop closing is the problem of correctly asserting that a robot has returned to a previously visited area. It is a particularly hard but important component of the Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) problem.
