Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Loop spaces and homotopy operations
The question of whether a given H-space X is, up to homotopy, a loop space has been studied from a variety of viewpoints. Here we address this question from the aspect of homotopy operations, in the classical sense of operations on homotopy groups ...

Finite loop spaces are manifolds
The purpose of this work is to show the following result: Theorem: Let \(B\) be a CW-complex and denote by \(X\) the loops on \(B\), \(\Omega B\). If \(H_*(X)=\bigoplus _i H_i(X)\) is a finitely generated abelian group, then \(X\) is homotopy equivalent to a compact, smooth parallelizable manifold.

Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

Asymptotic behavior of divergences and Cameron-Martin theorem on loop spaces
We first prove the L^p-convergence (p\geq 1) and a Fernique-type exponential integrability of divergence functionals for all Cameron-Martin vector fields with respect to the pinned Wiener measure on loop spaces over a compact Riemannian manifold.

CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing and phenotypic exploration in nontuberculous mycobacteria. In this Research Protocol, we describe approaches to control, monitor, and quantitatively assess CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing in M. smegmatis and M. abscessus model organisms.

dUTPases are involved in balancing the appropriate nucleotide pools. We showed that dUTPase is essential for normal development in zebrafish. The different zebrafish genomes contain several single‐nucleotide variations (SNPs) of the dut gene. One of the dUTPase variants displayed drastically lower protein stability and catalytic efficiency as compared ...

Ribbon braids and related operads [PDF]
This thesis consists of two parts, both being concerned with operads related to the ribbon braid groups. In the first part, we define a notion of semidirect product for operads and use it to study the framed $n$-discs operad (the semidirect product $f ...

On simplicial loops and H-spaces
Let \(X\) be a connected \(H\)-space and \(A\) a CW-complex. Then, according to I. M. James, the set \([A,X]\) of based homotopy classes has the structure of an algebraic loop, induced by the \(H\)-space structure of \(X\). The author shows that this is a consequence of a deeper result: Any minimal Kan subset \(M_\bullet\) of the singular set \(S_ ...
