Physical Origin of Temperature Induced Activation Energy Switching in Electrically Conductive Cement

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The temperature‐induced Arrhenius activation energy switching phenomenon of electrical conduction in electrically conductive cement originates from structural degradation within the biphasic ionic‐electronic conduction architecture and shows percolation‐governed characteristics: pore network opening dominates the low‐percolation regime with downward ...

Tamper Detection and Recovery for Medical Images Using Near-lossless Information Hiding Technique [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Digital Imaging, 2007
Digital medical images are very easy to be modified for illegal purposes. For example, microcalcification in mammography is an important diagnostic clue, and it can be wiped off intentionally for insurance purposes or added intentionally into a normal mammography.

Photonic Time Crystals and Time‐Varying Electromagnetic Metamatter: A New Direction for Ultrafast Tunable Photonic and Microwave Materials and Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Photonic time crystals (PTCs) are systems in which electromagnetic parameters are modulated periodically in time, producing momentum bandgaps via temporal scattering rather than spatial Bragg processes. This review examines the theoretical frameworks, modeling, and computational tools for time‐varying media, and summarizes experimental demonstrations ...

Progressive Secret Sharing with Adaptive Priority and Perfect Reconstruction

open access: yesJournal of Imaging, 2021
A new technique for progressive visual secret sharing (PVSS) with adaptive priority weight is proposed in this paper. This approach employs the bitwise and eXclusive-OR (XOR) based approaches for generating a set of shared images from a single secret ...

Physics‐Aware Machine‐Learning‐Driven Inverse Design of Broadband Ultra‐Open Acoustic Metamaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A physics‐aware machine‐learning framework enables inverse design of ultra‐open acoustic silencers by decoupling spectral and radial design spaces. The approach rapidly identifies broadband, compact, and highly ventilated architectures, while revealing hidden linear design rules that link geometry, impedance matching, and acoustic performance.

Suitability of Electrical Coupling in Solar Cell Thermoelectric Hybridization

open access: yesDesigns, 2018
It is well known that the major constraints to the efficiency of photovoltaic devices come from the generation of heat. In this context, thermoelectric generators have been proposed as a viable heat recovery solution, leading to an increase of the ...

Updatable Closed‐Form Evaluation of Arbitrarily Complex Multiport Network Connections

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
The inverse design of electrically large wave devices often uses reduced‐order multiport models with discrete optimization, requiring many evaluations of complex interconnections between subsystems that differ only in a few blocks. This paper introduces a closed‐form framework enabling efficient Woodbury low‐rank updates of related, previous ...
